  1. It depends if the surgeon does it that way. It takes longer because they do a somewhat of a quilting but less complications .
  2. Have the gummy bear implants as well and love them. On top of muscle as I had enough tissue. I only decided to get them a week before my tummy tuck and lift were scheduled but love them.
  3. I used Dr Leila Kasrai. She was amazing and I am very pleased. She did the drain less tummy tuck. She is close to the subway but not downtown so not crazy parking fees either. You can have surgery in the reg hospital or at a private clinic as well right downtown in Yorkville.
  4. @@bdcsail, do you mind me asking who your surgeon was? Or do you have surgeon recommendations? I'm still quite a ways away from plastics, but thought I'd start researching and Toronto isn't that far from me. TIA!
  5. Another option to think about is going to Toronto Canada. I had a tummy tuck, breast lift, and gummy bear implants for under 15000 cdn, $11000 us with the low Canadian dollar right now might be a good option. That included a year of follow up, but doesn't include hotel. As for recovery to avoid complications don't plan on moving on around very much for 2 weeks minimum. I am so happy with my results.

    LOSING TOO MUCH WEIGHT!

I would just increase your calorie intake and add carbs back into the diet. I had lost too much but seemed to have found a healthy balance between eating limited carbs but high protein, and an occasionally sweet treat.
  7. Told my doctor 3 months after it was done and asked her to blood work. Came back with surgical report X-rays etc. She was honest that she would have tried to talk me out of it. I did call OHIP before I left which is who covers Canadian healthcare to see if there was complications if I would be covered and they said yes.

    Kids to Mexico

With the company I used they picked me up in San Diego and drove us each time that was required for us to be somewhere. Nothing to be nervous of.

    Kids to Mexico

No I have traveled before by myself. The 30 min before surgery maybe I wished I wasn't alone but after that all was good. You need to focus on you not the kids and with two very young children he won't be able to focus on you either. If you are scared to be alone ask a friend to join you.

    Kids to Mexico

I would suggest dad stays home with the kids and you go to Mexico on your own. I did the same thing even with having older children. The other patients were very friendly and supportive so I didn't feel that alone at alone.

    Protein Failure

I was having the same problem as you pre surgery. I ended up finding the Premier protein shakes at Costco that are pre- made. In the beginning before surgery I would just gulp it down all at once and fingers crossed hope to keep it down. As I got use to it I actually started to enjoy them. They have 30'grams of protein and 1 gram of sugar.
  12. Sorry sent before I meant to. Flight was cheap to San Diego. $340 RT from Toronto. I stayed in San Diego as my flight came in after 5 pm. They picked me up the next am. Testing in am surgery in afternoon. Total stay 5 days. Got in within 3 weeks of making initial call. I went from 240 pre surgery to now I hang around 157. Best decision I ever made.
  13. I had mine in Tijuana, Mexico just over a year ago and paid $4200 us with Dr Fernando Garcia. I had a great experience.

    Got plastic surgery dates....

Bromelain is pineapple enzyme and helps with recovery and reduces swelling. I did take some pain meds but only in first 3 days but also took Arnica regularly. I used oxycodene but by day 3 was totally weaned and really only took it at night. I also did add a small implant so breast side didn't change other than perky and firm. My doctor was strict about limited movement so I lived in a recliner for 3 weeks and followed her instructions. My binder I had a love hate relationship with but was important to limited pain.

    Got plastic surgery dates....

I had my tummy tuck and breast lift 8months post VSG. I kept taking my regular vitamins as well added Bromelain, and Vitamin C. My surgeon actually felt I healed quicker then other patients. She did have me reduce fluid intake for the first 2 weeks post surgery. I am very pleased with my results.
  19. I am a year post op and last night started vomiting with Diarrhea. Was a rough night and became dizzy and nearly passed out a few times. Things seem to have settled yet all I have tried is apple juice and one protein shake. I am scared to try solids even though many recommend crackers and toast. Any suggestions on what to eat or should I just remain on fluids for a few days.

    Talk time Side Sleepers

On day 3 I was sleeping on tummy.
  21. I would think all of us are on suggested supplements recommended by our doctors but wondering what additional ones that you may have added and what they help with. My doc recommended - Multivitamin, Biotin 5000mcg, Vitamin b12, pantothenic acid 500 mg, vitamin d3 5000iu, Calcium. Intake all of that but in addition have added Florasil 1-2 day (for my hair) , one injection of b12 injected insuring enough b12 , & ironease. I also ensure that I have 2 Protein shakes a day. So far all is good my hair hasn't fallen out but it is not feeling as healthy as normal. Anything Missing or suggested.
  22. Well it's hard to believe it's been a year since I had my gastric sleeve in Tijuana Mexico. The year has been very successful I am 5'9 and met my goal weight of 153. My HW was 250. When I decided on this journey I was 240. SW was 229. Dr Garcia did the surgery. Against what is suggested I went on to have a tummy tuck and breast lift in April 7 months post sleeve at 163. I only told 3 people about my sleeve (husband, friend, and cousin who had gastric bypass after me) otherwise I kept my surgery secret. I don't regret that decision of not telling others. I currently eat pretty normal now but still high in protein. I have incorporated pasta and rice back into my diet but now in restricted portions. I actually had my plastic surgeon tell me to eat more as I was losing the what she felt was not healthy. Too funny eh. My only regret I would say now would have been to do a single incision gastric sleeve. Now that I have a nice flat tummy 2 of the incisions are noticeable but I am able to wear a higher rise bikini bottom it will cover the two that are most noticeable but incase someone is just researching it's something to think about. I do notice that it has been a full lifestyle change that I have embraced. I still weigh myself pretty regularly at least twice a week don't always think that's healthy but I worry about of course gaining. Premier protein shakes have been my lifesaver along with a great family doc and plastic surgeon. Have enjoyed and benefited from this forum in many ways, was a great resource to have along the way. Anyways thanks for the support over the last year and wish you all good luck on your WLS journeys.

    Increasing calories

Most often when I met a stall especially post 3 months by increasing my calorie intake I would lose more weight. Even now that I have met my goal and don't want to lose anymore so I have increased my calories and still continue to lose,
