Each surgeon is different so don't worry. I only had a three day pre-op clear liquid diet

@@cmick14 @kymmiej11 I had a 2 day clear liquids diet, as well. I was making great progress on my own pre-op, and that was all my doc required. Try Swanson Soup bases in the box- they have delicious flavors like "Thai" and trust me, you're going to want something savory. I never thought I would be tired of sweet things..but it happens, sweet thing ;)

I also had a 3 day pre-op liquid diet, with the last day primarily clear fluids. When my husband had his VSG 3 years ago, he had to do muscle milk light 5 times a day plus Water for 3 weeks before his surgery. Every surgeon uses a protocol that works for them, and what they think you need.

My surgeon does a 2 week high protein, low carb diet, similar to Atkins.

I had to follow the south beach diet for two weeks and then my last solid meal was breakfast on the day before my surgery which j had scrambled eggs and then clear liquids and my surgery went very well. It's different for each surgeon.
