Egg drop soup post op?

Hey everyone! I'm getting pretty bored with my Protein shakes and Clear liquids...how soon post-op are people doing thickened Soups, like egg drop? It's protein, it's relatively clear, and it's delicious! Does it count as clear, though? Thank you for your responses!

  • That would be your doctors opinion but I had egg drop soup as soon as I was off clear liquids(4 days).

  • Same here. It was the best tasting soup ever after all that horrible plain broth.

  • My surgeon hand-wrote egg drop soup on my instructions and I went for it -- to the point of making it myself. Delicious! And fun, too....

I did exactly that. I also added hot oil to give it an extra kick.
