I'm having the hardest time ever on this liquid diet. I feel hungry, depressed and having second thoughts on having the surgery. The broth is nasty. I can handle the shakes just can't drink a lot. even before I never was a person that constantly drink. Maybe tomorrow will be better

I'm struggling too... I'm not too terribly hungry, I'm just exhausted and have a headache. I guess I anticipated it, but it still stinks. I'm on day 2/14. My surgery is scheduled September 30th.

Tonight I wanted to feel a bit fuller than I did earlier in the day. I boiled 1 lb. carrots (not peeled, to leave the fiber), and 1 onion in a large container of chicken bouillon + a medium-sized can. I pureed it in the blender and added juice and rind of 1 orange, then added salt and cinnamon to taste. By the time I ran it through the blender, it had cooled somewhat and wasn't too hot to add the Protein powder. I put enough of the puree in a large Soup bowl and added a scoop of powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken soup Protein Powder. Whew! Feel better.

There's plenty left for tomorrow.

I'm on day 3. My surgery is September 30 as well. I asked my nutritionist can I have food, she replied with a salad with vinegar only or fresh cut vegetables. I don't know if this will help you a little... wishing us all good luck with liquid diet

Hang in there, the first 2 to 3 days are the hardest keep your eye on the prize! Headaches are common as your body goes thru a detox period of sugar and carbs. A cup of warned low sodium fat free chicken broth will help with that a lot... best of luck this is only a small step in a long journey!

I t will get easier I am a week out on the pre op and I have had the shakes for Breakfast and lunch and around I have a cup of organic chicken broth or vegetable broth and about 5:30 6:00 I have my dinner of the oz. of chicken turkey or fish 1/2 cup brown rice and a cup of cooked veggies except corn, peas or lima Beans they are no no's and through out the day I have warm tea no sugar or cream or sugar free drinks I hope this helps give you an idea to keep from being hungry.

Thanks. I'm so glad that there are many others who have been attempting to try other meals. Counting calories and my other techniques are useful. I have created a diet journal to record my journey to a healthier life..

I totally understand. ...I'm ending day 3 my surgery is 10/1 I did cheat today ???? I had some wonton soup from the Chinese take out I kinda feel guilty but then again I don't, I have 10 more days to make it up, I just know I will not be making the same mistake twice....hang in there! We all are going thru the struggles of doing this pre op diet...it gets better I hope.

I have been on the pre op for 8 days and I can honestly say that its been hard with cravings but I have not cheated once on this I am looking at like this if I cant get through 2 weeks of a diet how am going to change for a life time I hope everyone has success!!!!

I'm on day 3 as well with a surgery date of Sept 30. I'm not too hungry, but I just want food!

On day 2 of pre-op diet. Just tried unjury chocolate Splendor + 1 Tb. malted milk powder and added extra Sweet N' Low to 1 c. unsweetened soymilk. Wow that tastes good... just like a chocolate malt!

Why can't I get this pre-op right?? It seems as though the devil is sabotaging my efforts! I've done plenty of "diets" and was successful, no problems but now, I'm craving chips, chocolate chip cookies and French fries! And I had them:( :( I'm going to need prayer:( I have 8 days to shrink my liver..... Any suggestions?
