Shoulder pain relief?

I'm wanting to stop taking my post-surg pain meds because they make me so tired. But there's shoulder pain is pretty intense. I've tried heat and ice... They help, but only while being applied. My surgery was on Thursday and today is Saturday night. I hope it's gone by the third day, but if not, is there any other advice out there?

  • I found a massage therapist that did chair massages. The one where you sit in a chair and lean forward and the massage therapist works your neck and back only. It was great because you aren't laying o

  • I had the same thing. It lasted for 2 weeks then poof! It was gone

  • Ugggh - well then I cannot wait for my "poof"!!!! haha I believe I have read other people saying that the shoulder pain was the worst part about getting the band, and I must agree!!!

Still no "poof" yet :(

Called my surgeons office on Monday and they said that it isn't common to last this long, but not abnormal either. That I just need to wait it out.

I cannot express how frustrating it is to continue with this pain, and have no real end in sight.

I am praying that it will go away very soon, tomorrow will be three weeks since surgery.

Sigh...

I am 5 weeks out and I still get pain once in a while

Oh no, briefs! Say it ain't so!

I had it several weeks when I had my lapband two years ago. I finally drank a very small amount of sprite or gingerale and immediately burped it all out. I know you shouldn't have soda. But I was desperate. I only had it the first few days with the sleeve. But I also walked as much as I could and never laid completely flat the first 2 weeks.

  • 3 weeks later...

Update: took a little over 5 weeks but the pain has officially passed! I am so thankful to be beyond that!

I am 9 days out and this shoulder pain started a few days ago. I thought I had slept wrong and had a pinched nerve guess not I seem to have it all day long but the worst at dinner time hope this goes away soon this is awful

it's gas still lingering in your body. Walk it off. Sleep sitting up. I had some (like 1/4 cup) of flat gingerale and it really helped when I went through the shoulder pain. Just make sure it's flat
