Staying regular

Are you guys taking pro-biotics to help with constipation ? I read where PB8 was a good choice. I'm honking about trying them.

probiotics were not for me...I ended up with dry-mouth etc...but I just use Miralax a few times a week and that works fine for me... good luck

I really need the same help here! Miralax was so vile to me I could barely gag it down. I got Milk of Magnesia, which worked the first time, but not after that. Maybe I need to up the dose?

I swear I only have a 'movement' maybe once a week, and that's while i'm taking daily Dulcolax gel and Benefiber. My doc said to get a psyllium husk version - but I literally couldn't drink the whole thing with my sleeve. Maybe 1/3 to 1/2 of it at best. Aurgh!!

At the RN's suggestion I tried probiotics and they did nothing for me, so after two weeks i quit them.

Everything is going pretty well for me... Except very tired and constation. My dr tested me for B12 and I was way low. He is starting me on B12 shots this week. That hopefully will help the energy levels. As for the constipation I was taking two doses of Benefiber one day and murilax the next day. Doc said to take both each day until I get past this. He also said I was not getting enough water. So I will try to do better. Honestly I am miserable.

I take magnesium supplements. I've been taking it for about 5 years now.

I was NEVER regular before surgery, now Its a daily morning routine. I do take probiotics and I was taking them before i was sleeved. I heard they helped with digestion and weight lost.

Water, pro-biotic, magnesium supplement, senna or other laxative occasionally if needed. Chia seed in yogurt or your protein shake are also helpful for regularity if you are far enough out to be able to eat seeds. Also, once cleared to do so eating salad greens helps one stay regular.
