I'm sure you will do fine! The nurse should keep you comfortable with medication. Just don't drink anything for awhile or take small sips because you might get nauseated. I had a real problem with that. Did your doctor order pills to put under your tongue to help ward off nausea? Mine did and they helped tremendously!! You will probably be a little sore the first two days. After that each day gets better!! Do exactly what they tell you to do and don't do what they tell you not to do!! Good Luck!! I had mine done last February.

Hi there and congratulations on making this choice for yourself and your healthy future! I am so happy to be banded. I can't really recall the discomfort of those first couple of days -- I was so happy about getting banded that was all that mattered. It's not like being in the hospital for illness or an injury -- I was getting something I wanted and that made all the difference. Sense of humor was a good thing to take with me -- the gown, slippers, just how surreal a surgical environment is (this was my first overnight in a hospital as a patient and I'm 52). Walk all you can......I'm pretty sure that's the magic ingredient. Kicked my body's into healing mode. And thank yourself, acknowledge how wonderful you are, that you are showing up for yourself. Way to go! And keep us posted.....we are here for you.
