Gas pains worse with everything

I had my band placed on the 23rd. My gas is awful. It's in my abdomen, chest, shoulder. Walking makes it worse, fluids make it worse. Only thing that helps is laying down on my side. I'm taking Gasx and mylicon. How long did everyone's gas last for? Any other ideas I can try to ease the pains? I knw my surgeon says walking is best but it just makes my stomach all crampy and not let the gas go anywhere.

The meds will get you through the worst of it. No need to suffer if you don't have to. The first few days are the roughest. It does get better ...just hang in there

  • Try a heating pad!! or have someone karate chop the area to try and release some of the gas!

I want to say the bad gas lasted 4 to 5 days. It hurt so bad, and I know it is different with everyone. You will get through this I know you will. Best of luck on your new adventure.

Mine was about 9 days...I just kept trying to walk it off...then turned the heating pad on the worst areas. Did you get pain meds?

Yes i got pain meds but don't really want to take them. I did take half a dose just now cuz the pain was too unbearable. Trying to keep my head up and positive thoughts but it ain't easy when the pain is this high. Def still worth it tho.

I never had post op gas pains to speak of....at least not that I can remember. But I took ALL my pain meds. ;) No pain here!

Hi

I had my op on the 20th, I'm also suffering with gas pain, it can be so painful at times and nothing I do seems to sift it. A week today since my op and I have only been told to have gripe water or pepper mint tea for comfort but they are not working to well

Help when will this gas leak lol

Glad ur feeling better! I was starting to feel much better but totally woke up feeling miserable with gas pains everywhere. I seen my surgeon today for a post op visit today and he reassured me the gas gets better w time. Praying I feel better soon.

Poor you... I was much better for two days and then last night it was the worst for me too.

Gas Pain travelling through my upper body.

Try sleeping with a few pillows so your head is high... It helps me a lot

Hope you feel better soon.. Keep me updated

@@romana mine is def way in my upper body. It's painful to take a deep breath and the pain wakes me up at night. I will def try propping w a few pillows. It sucks dealing w this especially since like goes in n I can't just mope around in pain all day. Thanks for the tip. Hope u feel better.

Hey sweetie..my gas is still bad also..haven't passes much and until yesterday it was hard to breathe! I alternate between heat and an ice pack. My shoulder pain is the worst of it

.take your pain meds! Absolutely no shame in that! Praying you feel better soon. Oh and for me the gas x made it where I couldn't pass gas but that was my experience .
