Congrats on getting ur band. The first week for me was an emotional roller coaster. Can u have Popsicles? Tht really helped w my sore throat. Everyone on here told me tht thngs get better in time...they were all so very right.

I use this app called "eat slow" it really has helped me and I'm only 2 weeks post op. U can set ur own intervals between bites.

My surgeon told me 1-2min between sips and I've been doing tht with bites as well. What do u guys usually do?

What really helped my gas pains was laying on a heating pad for 5min on each side and rotating until I passed some gas. Also everyone keeps saying warm liquids...didn't do anythng for my gas/pain...I drank ice cold water and Gatorade.

As of today I'm actually feeling a lot better. I feel almost back to my normal self except now I'm hungry and my stomach is rumbling and gurgling like a earthquake lol. I want food so badly today and I'm so sick of protein shakes tht they make my stomach turn. I'll feel like I'm actually getting a hold of thngs. Thankful I'm doing better...prayer and water have def helped.

Thanks Colleen. Actually feeling much better today and forcing myself to drink more water. I went out n got Gatorade yesterday and tht seems to be helping lots! It gets better w time I knw. But if I was still miserable after 16days id def be bugging my dr office for an answer.

No, mine hasn't been primed with any fluid.

I feel the same as u except difficulty swallowing. I would call ur surgeon n see if maybe they would recommend any IV fluids (mine did). I feel very weak and thirsty 24/7... And my gas pains sure ain't helping either. I feel miserable at times as well. I can only drink small amounts of fluids. I'm only drinking water and Gatorade now cuz everything else makes me sick. I always feel super full and bloated from drinking too much fluids. This started after surgery n I started to feel better but 2 days ago all shit hit the fan n I woke up like I was hit by a bus. My dr says its cuz I'm dehydrated. Haven't gone for IV fluids yet but if I'm not better by tomorrow then I'm def calling my dr back. I urge u to call ur dr cuz the last thng u need is severe dehydration. Good luck to you and hope u feel better. Keep us all updated.

I was just going to post somthng similar. I feel so thirsty/dehydrated these past 2 days. All I want to do is drink ice cold water and i have no appetite for anything. Only problem is tht I can't get enough of it because of the band. The more I drink the more nauseated and bloated I get. I def crave water, just sucks I'm so restricted n can't drink much of it. Keep drinking...the last thng u need is to be feeling miserable from dehydration.

@@romana mine is def way in my upper body. It's painful to take a deep breath and the pain wakes me up at night. I will def try propping w a few pillows. It sucks dealing w this especially since like goes in n I can't just mope around in pain all day. Thanks for the tip. Hope u feel better.

Glad ur feeling better! I was starting to feel much better but totally woke up feeling miserable with gas pains everywhere. I seen my surgeon today for a post op visit today and he reassured me the gas gets better w time. Praying I feel better soon.

I knw the feeling. I'm still very swollen n feel extremely tight. It will pass w time.

I'm scheduled to return to work on July 8 but I probably won't need tht much according to my surgeon. I've heard ppl going back in one week.

I don't thnk I'm at the point of ready to call my dr yet. It's was very bothersome for about half hour and have been drinking crystal light the remainder of the day with no issues. I don't thnk it's the point if being too restricted cuz my dr doesn't put any fluids in til a while later...4 weeks I think.

Monday will be one week post op for me and I've been struggling w liquids I'm having trouble drinking the minimum 48oz the dr requires...I make 20 to 30 on a good day. Still feel very bloated and tight. I was drinking warm tea this morning w Splenda n all of a sudden I felt really nauseated and like I had a rock in my chest. I walked for about half hour before I felt some relief by burping...I was sweating and kept bringing up a lot of phlegm like substance but it wasn't phlegm. After this episode I was so exhausted like id been hit by a bus tht I had to take a nap. Is this what getting stuck feels like and if so, is it possible to get tea stuck!???

Yeah let me knw when u awake wind free! I'm still waiting to go somewhat back to normal. Woke up this morning feeling great w no gas and by noon I was miserable. I have to keep reminding myself tht it's only temporary

@@romana my pains have maybe gone down about 25%. What really has been helping is the walking and I'm taking liquid pain meds. They r very much painful ???? did ur dr give u any pain meds to take at home?
