Side effect of postop meds

So when I take my full dose of Tylenol and hydrocodone I get super anxious. Does this happen to anyone else ? I've never had to take these types of pain meds before and I thought it was a strange reaction.

Hydrocodone can make you anxious. It makes my husband sleepy, but I get all hyped up and itchy. This is just my reaction, I know it can affect everyone differently. Good luck! :)

I have super vivid bad dreams.....

I can't sleep with narcotics in my system. I'm tired and relaxed, but my brain just won't shut down. Fortunately I didn't need any pain meds after this surgery.

Hydrocodone freaks me out - I feel like I'm floating on the ceiling and then I have crazy dreams for a couple of hours. I swear, that is not a pain med for me, it's a psychedelic!

Haha- I hear ya. I had a very vivid dream where I was choking on muddy water... So vivid I woke up thinking I must be vomiting. But I wasn't, just a very really dream. Luckily I'm off all the pain meds now!!

I also have super bad dreams. In the hospital I only used my pain meds when I was in terrible pain and the second night I had wakeful dreams. I called the nurse to ask for an antidote medicine for the bad dreams. She told me the next day lol.
