I am thinking about the LapBand to Sleeve revision surgery and my new surgeon said that I would have a drain bag for 7 days. I was wondering if anyone had a drain bag for a week? What did it feel like and did it hurt during and after it was pulled out?

Some surgeons use them and some don't, so they are common...that won't be a problem, a friend of mine said it didn't hurt coming out, but everyone is different. My surgeon uses them and it doesn't bother me, I think we will probably be glad to get it out though.

I should also say I'm not band to sleeve, I will get a drain tube for regular sleeve procedure.

I had one for 3 days. No big deal. I stuck the drain bulb in a pocket during the day and pinned it to the front inside of my jammies at night so I wouldn't roll over on it. Felt weird coming out but didn't hurt. A friends mom had bypass and had 2 drains for 7 days. She didn't take care of them as instructed, so she had some issues, but she didn't complain too bad. (Probably because it was her fault)

I'm a band to sleeve revision and no drainage tube here. I guess it all depends on the doctor!

I had a drain tube for 2 days. It was a relief to be rid of it, more mental than anything else. good luck!
