This is on my 39th birthday 2010, 6 months before my surgery in Jun 2011. I weighted 233lbs. I thought I looked good until I saw this picture. I didn't realize how big I actually was until I saw this.
  2. Good Luck to you! It's such a great feeling to be under that big number!
  3. Good Luck! I'm sure you'll make it!
  4. Thanks! It was a long time coming!
  5. Yay me! I have finally hit ONE-DERLAND! I was banded on Jun 13, 2011 and have lost 37lb! I stepped on the scale and it was down to 196.4! Good Luck to all! You'll make if you're not already there!
  6. I had some drainage from my port incision. It was kinda yellowish clear. I went to the dr and he said it was a seroma. He put me on keflex since my incision hadn't closed up all the way. He was worried about infection. He also had me put neosporin on it too. Within a week or so, it healed up and the leakage stopped. It wouldn't hurt to have your doctor look at it. It sounds like a seroma.
  7. Good Luck tomorrow! I hope everything goes well!
  8. I was banded on the 13th too! So far my recovery is going good. I haven't had much pain or gas pain. My steri strips are starting to fall off and boy is my belly button has a nice bruise around it from a major incision above it. So far no nausea or throwing up but I have been real good with my liquid diet and havent tried to eat anything i'm not suppose to yet. For first few days I wasn't hungry but now that I'm healing soups and protein shakes arent cutting it, but I will be a good girl and follow the liquid diet for another week! Hope yours is going good too !
  9. I'm 3 days post op ( had mine done on monday ). Surgery was a breeze, although I started wreching in recovery and in my room and the doc was quick with the anti nausea meds. I got a lot of pepcid, anti nausea, antibiotics and pain meds. Actually only 1-2 doses of pain meds, the pain didn't seem that bad to me, but then again I think i have a pretty high pain tolerance. So don't be afraid to ask for the pain meds! So far my recovery has been fairly easy. The first night at home I slept on my recliner and then in my own bed last night. Each day the pain gets better and better. I have had very little gas pains. Mine has felt like a burp that i cant get up. farting  helps get the excess gas out. So fart away!!! Just get all the info you can! Your concerns are valid because we all had them! I know I did! Good luck! Let us know how every thing is going!
  10. Good Luck! I'm 2 days post op and the pain isn't too bad. Feels more like sore muscles than anything to me. I haven't had much gas pain, to me it feels more like a burp that got stuck then goes away. Good luck tomorrow! Everything will go great!
  11. Just got home a few hours ago. Feeling pretty good. I don't have much pain but just uncomfortable. I will probably end up sleeping on my recliner for a couple nights. Good luck to everyone!
  12. Today is the day! I'm nervous excited, anxious, apprehensive all in one. I'm just wondering if I'm making the right decision on being banded. I know that it's probably best for me but just nervous about it. I know if a guy that I work with that weighed about 300-350 can be banded and do the whole life afterwards and now weighs about 190-220, I can do it too. Wish me luck and I will keep everyone updated on my progress. Good luck to all the other June banders!
  13. The surgeon requires a 2 week pre-op diet of Medifast. Replace 2 meals with medifast shakes and one healthy meal. We're not suppose to snack between meals. But if I don't have a piece of fruit, then I'm ready to start on my arm! I have 3 more days of it and then on to clear liquids for a day! He wants us to lose 5-10lbs before surgery. I guess it is suppose to shrink the liver. Since the stomach is behind the liver, it makes it easier to move the liver out of the way to get to the stomach. I guess it wouldn't hurt if you did!
  14. I feel your pain! I'm a week into my pre-op diet and it seems to be easier during the when I'm at work. The weekends seem to be my problem. Today was bad. I could have eaten anything i could find! I thought about gnawing my arm off but thought I might need it later . I would just drink more water or eat some cantaloupe and remember why I'm doing this. Good Luck!
  15. I have my pre-op appt tomorrow june 6th for blood work, chest xrays and that sorts! I go in on June 13 for my band! I also have a bag of mixed emotions! I keep telling myself that it will all be worth it in the end!
