Me too

Hi all, just thought that I'd drop in and say hello. I got banded in Belgium last week - feeling pretty good about it. Looks like this is a site I should visit regularly...

I started keeping a blog of my experiences so far, if anyone is interested, you can find it here.

Good luck to all you banders

Welcome Wiz!

I'm kinda new to this board myself but am enjoying it alot, I think you will too! There is alot of info in the archives of this place so help yourself!

I don't know what a Blog is, but I clicked and read anyway. The first thing I saw was a motorcycle, which I hope you didn't ride to and from your surgery!

Glad you had an uneventful and speedy surgery! I was in the hospital with several other people, and I was only staying 2 nights while they were all staying 4. When it was time for me to leave, they were all envious that they didn't chose a shorter stay, since there's no better place to recover than in your own home!

I don't suppose you can convert that price to American dollars? I'm curious to see the difference between our countries. Good luck!

Welcome Lisa G and Wiz: Come on in, take yer shoes off, sit a spell.

Ya'll come back now ya here?!!

Sorry my southern came out of me. It does that from time to time.

Penni,

A Blog is short for (We)B-Log or rather, a journal that is kept on the Internet. See here for the definition.

£2800 is about $4800 at the moment as sterling is pretty strong against the dollar. It used to be more like $4300. The full treatment in the UK is more like £7000 or $12,000

Belgium is so much cheaper I was worried at first, but now we have the tunnel to France, it's only a 3 hour drive for me which helped my confidence. The Dr who did my surgery has a website here: http://www.jacqueshimpens.com/index.html . All I'd say is that I am very pleased and feel lucky that I live so close. Thanks for the welcome ya'll

Lisa G: I was born and raised in Kentucky. So I have a southern drawl every now and then. When I visit my mother, who still lives in the town where I grew up, and my daughter, who lives in Clarksville, TN (close to Nashville), the southern drawl really comes out.

Guess my Texan pride got the best of me! Hee! Hee! LOL

Since this is Wizs' thread I'll ask him if appreciates the Southern Drawl....Well, do ya?

Belgium, eh? I read your great blog, Wiz, and I too was astonished at the low price of the surgery. We yanks could fly first class, stay at a posh hotel, & still save a bundle over the costs here. . . plus there's that Belgian chocolate before the big day. From what you have written, your doc's before- and aftercare sounds pretty perfunctory, but the surgery went smoothly & that's what matters. Good luck, and welcome!

Welcome Wiz!

Wishing you lots of success with your new band and hope you love this forum as much as I do! Again... Welcome!

Darcy
