Tanning

Never been one to tan in a tanning bed. But suddenly got the urge to with the warm weather. Is it safe to tan post vsg? Have any of you done this and how soon after surgery?

Funny you should mention this... I have been thinking of going for a spray tan to get a golden hue before vacation... always been so pale, don't sit in the sun either... for a tanning bed, you may have to wait a certain amount of time, I'd check with your doctor, as you are still healing... let us know what he says!

I really don't see why not..? It's the inside of you healing. I'm sure if you've been passed to swim and what not your incisions are healed and you should be good to go.

I live in Florida. Tanning is a given unless you're on house arrest. :huh:B)

Tanning is ok but you need to cover the scars while tanning for 1 year post-op (new skin very sensitive). Some ppl says its ok to tan your scars for a minute or two when you are at least 7 months out...
