Rice?

Can someone tell me the deal with rice? I am almost 4 months post op and am scared to try it. Can I get some advice to those who can and can't have it and what are the repercussions. Thank you

Rice and lettuce scare me because of the horror stories I've heard, about not being able to be processed so easily. I can almost eat anything now and was interested in trying rice and wanted to see how different people tolerate it.

I eat rice now but it was quite awhile post-op before I could tolerate it well. I've forgotten how long, but I think it was after the first year. I generally eat brown rice, but occasionally I eat white rice too.

I tried rice for the first time earlier this week. I wouldn't ordinarily eat it (I keep things low carb) but it was recommended to me when I was having some tummy troubles. Anyway, I ate brown rice maybe 3 times over the course of 2 days and it gave me no problems whatsoever. I'm 8 months out.

I'm terrified to even get it close to my lips....rice was one of several things like Pasta, bread that i was completely fine giving up forever....i love my sushi without rice....delicious.....

gnatman has a GREAT quote in regard to rice....:-). Maybe someone can post here...

I tried about 2 tbsp and no problem! I will keep it light, I am doing really well without bread, pasta, rice and sugar! I would just like to have my occasional sushi :) thanks to everyone for the input
