  1. I was sleeved 12/9/13, I am down 50lbs today! I am so excited, but very nervous as I am in the hair loss stage, still throw up small amounts of food or liquid. I have to be very conscious about what I eat because I find myself being more daring about wanting to try new things. I try to get all my protein naturally as I have tried every protein drink out there and will never drink one again. Has anyone ever tried protein pills?? My doc said protein for hair loss. I have slowed down on my weight loss and sometimes it seems the worse I eat the more I lose.....a little confusing!
  2. I am coming up on 6 mos and have been stalled for more than a month. I will be seeing my nut and starting couch to 5k in a week! So frustrating!
  3. Sleeved 12/9 - 4 months and I have my first cold. I used to be a NyQuil junkie (my go to medicine for every cold), but not sure if I can take that or other cold medicine. Any advice from someone who has been sick and asked their doctor what they can and can't take?
  4. Great job everyone! I am big time losing hair and feeling like all I eat is protein to ensure I get enough. I have to be very very conscientious of what I buy and what I eat, because I still have days where I want to boredom eat or emotional eat, but I will not go back to bad habits! I am loving the challenge if staying healthy!

    Rice?

Can someone tell me the deal with rice? I am almost 4 months post op and am scared to try it. Can I get some advice to those who can and can't have it and what are the repercussions. Thank you

    Rice?

I tried about 2 tbsp and no problem! I will keep it light, I am doing really well without bread, pasta, rice and sugar! I would just like to have my occasional sushi thanks to everyone for the input

    Rice?

Rice and lettuce scare me because of the horror stories I've heard, about not being able to be processed so easily. I can almost eat anything now and was interested in trying rice and wanted to see how different people tolerate it.

    Losing it- Stall advice

I am at week 8, have been stalled for over two weeks and my surgeons advice is - stick to the plan, make sure you're getting your calories, protein, fluids and excercise and do not weigh yourself more than once a week. Sounds like solid advice
  10. I'm at week eight and have been stalled for almost two weeks...sigh!
  11. I am six weeks post op today! I am on soft foods beginning to introduce normal foods and it is going well, except my protein intake. I have just found nature valley protein bars 190 cal 6 g of sugar 10 g protein and I love them and can eat a whole one in one sitting. My question is, can I have more than one a day? I can't stand protein powder, I just ordered the unjury sample pack and am praying it is as good as people say! I have bought so many different protein powders, ready to drink protein drinks just to have them sit there and never touched again (waste of money)!
  12. Thank you for the feedback, I see my surgeon in a week, I will double check with him as well.
  13. Sleeved on 12/9, down 32 lbs and feeling great! I am still on mostly puréed, and starting to introduce solids. It's going pretty good and does get easier with time. I am currently looking for new protein shakes or a protein powder that I can tolerate to add to my foods and smoothies. I am craving a super crispy salad but am very apprehensive. I will hold off a little while.
  14. Just got mine 2 weeks late.....phew!

    sleep apnea

I was sleeved on 12/9 and I have been having a hard time using my cpap (waking in the night with severe dry mouth and throat) and have been sleeping fine without it...I have to make an appointment to see if I still need it.
  16. Sue, I am the same as you except 4 weeks out! I can eat, but keep myself to the plan. To scared that I will go back to old habits.
  17. It seemed to me that maybe Ken posted this from personal experience, and wanted some advice, not judgment. Isn't this site for support? I for one can say I have succumbed to this a couple of times simply because I knew I couldn't handle the food yet and I just wanted to have the flavor in my mouth. I realize the dangers of it and will still probably do it occasionally just to taste something! I am in charge of me, feel free to cast judgement all you want....shame shame

    4 week stall...UGH

I am also almost 4 weeks post op and am on a slight stall. From what I can see, it is normal and we should stick to the plan and we will be on track again!
  19. Happy new year all! Sheldon you have inspired me to come up with a name for mine, thank you! I was sleeved on 12/9 and love this forum, it had been so helpful!
  20. I am 3 weeks post op and have been hungry since my surgery. You are definitely not alone, thank goodness for this app, as it is good support for me knowing I'm not alone. I am taking one day at a time and keeping the end result in my forefront of thought, and that is a healthier me! Hang in there! We got this!
  21. I am 17 days post op and in stage 2 and slowly working into stage 3 with my surgeons approval. I am throwing up quite a bit. Is this due to trying new things or over stuffing myself or a little of both? I am sticking with the menu options. I am concerned I am not getting enough nutrition as I am unable to stomach anymore fusion protein shakes, any advice is appreciated!
