Hi everybody. I just wanted to say that I love this site! Everyone is so helpful and has so much knowledge and info.
I'm just getting started on my weight loss journey and have been trying to soak up as much as I can on these forums.
Here's a little bit about me. I'm 34. I have an amazing husband who loves me unconditionally. I've got one little perfect boy who is 9. I just started looking into the gastric sleeve a couple of weeks ago. I am going to the informational seminar on March 6 and have my first doctors appt scheduled for March 24. When I talked to the insurance lady at the drs office she said with my insurance it should only take 4-6 weeks until surgery. SO I am both very excited and very nervous because that time will fly by. That is why I am so thankful for this forum.
I have always been heavy. My whole life. Right before I turned 30 I started taking phenteramin(sp?), dieted, and stared walking. I lost 140lbs in a 1 1/2. It wad the most amazing feeling. But I got cocky thinking I could do it all by myself and lazy and let the old habits slip back in. so now I have gained it all back but the last 25lbs. I realize now that losing/keeping the weight off is a head game. I can't do it all by myself. I am finally ready to have a healthy relationship with food. I'm ready to take back control of my life and not let food rule it. I miss that confident person I was for that small amount of time. I'm ready to be happy with myself on the inside and out. Food should be something I rely on to live, not rely on to make me happy.
