I just got my date today. I'll be getting sleeved on Thursday, 4/3. It's kind of ironic, because I've been jumping through major hoops to get a date for many months, and waiting anxiously. It was so strange that out of all the dates that surgery could be scheduled for, the day that I was given is the on my dearly departed Grandma's birthday. We were both very close and I miss her so much every day. I am sure it's a sign that she'll be watching out for me along the way. I'm excited that the date is finally almost here, but getting a little nervous as it gets closer. It's nice to have this site to remind me that we're all in the same boat, and that I'm not alone.

I'm having mine at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Pk., IL. What about u?

I am going to be in Carmel Indiana

Mamaof5heathens-what part of IN?

I live close to Richmond indiana but am going to a small town north of indianapolis indiana

I live on the outskirts of Hammond, IN. When will the doctor let u know your date?

I got my letter in the mail today w my EGD schedule and lab tests that will be the end of March. The letter says that the surgeon will review the results and barring complications, will then schedule me the next available date. Whether or not I can take that date will depend on my work schedule. I am hoping sooner rather than later.

Hi everyone, I'm new here but wanted to join this group. My surgery is scheduled for April 9th, but I've had to postpone it twice before now due to other medical issues (some neuro problems that are still undiagnosed). I meet with my surgeon again Tuesday, and my neuro has given me the go ahead. I just need to make sure my surgeon is cool with it!

Good luck and welcome to the group. Where are you having your surgery?

Welcome April sleevers. I had my GSD yesterday. I believe GSD is the stomach scope. Wasn't bad just made my throat a lil sore after. But it went very quick.

Hey did they put u to sleep or numb ur throat?? I'm having one on the 21st an I'm curious... Thanks n advance

U know they only said that it would relax me but all I remember is them saying they are putting the med in the IV and them saying ok we're done. It felt like I just blinked and it was over. I wasn't even groggy after.

That's good to know. Hopefully my experience is similar to urs... I really want to go to work afterwards, but they are telling I won't beable to...

It should be a conscious sedation procedure with an quick acting sedative that wears off quickly and has an amnesia effect. You wont remember much but can swallow and help during if needed

I was out for the rest of the day after mine.. I wasn't driving though..I was fine but I may not be the norm..

I took the night off so that i wouldnt feel drained from the meds then have to work a 12 hour night shift. But they scheduled my scope at 7:30 and my physical at 1. So I hope I am not gorked the whole day. My Dr is about an hour and fourty five min from home. So my husband is going w me. Hope he finds a good book by then to take.
