Hi everyone well I am 15 days post op on stage 3 diet pureed foods which my nut has me eating ricotta cheese, cottage cheese, chobani plain yogurt and isopure... I am down exactly 30 lbs today I started at 269 I'm at 239 today but I am really discouraged I miss eating dinners with my family and not feeling like I need to avoid things. I have absolutely no hunger at all but I'm pushing myself to get 70 protein I'm lucky if I get 50 now. I'm 24 and I just want to cry because I knew this was hard but I never expected it to be this emotionally difficult. I feel like I spent my life eating when I wasn't hungry which is why I had to have this surgery but now I'm not hungry and don't want food and I have to push this food down. I never really ate dairy because it made me sick now everything is dairy and I'm struggling.

Please help I don't know what to do..

Erin this is what you wanted and needed to get healthy. Food was an addiction and a comfort that was harming you and your health. Don't think of this as a loss cause from here in out the only thing you are loosing is pounds and pounds of body fat! You will be able to eat food again! You will! It will just take time.. The sad part is is that for many of us food had defined who we are. We aren't fun and happy unless we are eating and sharing food with others. But what's fun and happy about a tired fat girl who is tired and sore and on meds?

Keep on keepin on Erin! Your doing something WONDERFUL!!!!!

Erin, hang on in there, things will get better I don't eat dairy products and I nearly went mad for the first 4 weeks on a liquid diet. Now I am on soft food things are getting better all the time. We all have to re-educate ourselves to eat small and very slowly, but in the end we will be in control instead of food controlling us. :)

You guys are all doing great! I'm 2 weeks out as of today, 22lbs down and I feel great!

Looking forward to my first post op appt today to remove my drain so I can really maximize my workouts...I only walk right now.

Good luck all..
