Kale Smoothie Tip

Kale is the new super food and I use a handful in my morning smoothie. I buy a big bag of baby kale from Costco and it takes up a full crisper drawer and goes bad before I use it all, so I took a new bag squeezed all the air out of the bag, put it in the freezer and when it was totally frozen transferred it to a smaller container. Now every morning I just grab a handful of the frozen kale and put it in the blender. No waste, no mess.

I could have solved your problem you could have sent it to me for my iguanas lol

Great idea Terry , Freezing Kale never occurred to me.. I get sick of throwing stuff out . I will have to give that a try..

Great idea -- I like the texture and coldness frozen berries, etc. bring to my smoothies. This is much healthier!

I have not yet acquired the taste for kale. Hoping too since it's suppose to be so good for you. Any smoothie recipe suggestions that might make it a little more pleasant?

Best suggestion I can give is don't use too much, it has a strong flavor. My normal smoothie is an orange, fresh pineapple, a carrot, kale, greek yogurt, Agave nectar and a handful of ice cubes. I can taste the kale in the background (reminds me of a new mown lawn), but it doesn't over power the rest of the drink.
