New Sleeve

Hi all, I am 8 days post-op. surgery date was 2/5/14. And I will tell you holy crap I was in a lot of pain for the first 7 days. Although the pain hasn't magically stopped now it feels more like I did an extreme Ab workout. Is any one else sick of liquid protein shakes? I know I am! I used to think yuck apple sauce now I am thinking yum apple sauce and I am going to eat the crap out of it. Lol. It may sound strange, but I miss chewing. I am finally starting to be able to take a little bigger then just a sip (thank goodness) I have found it really hard not to gulp my water especially when I am really thirsty. I also have found it difficult to quench my thirst because I get so full after just a few sips.

I am right with you! I hurt pretty bad. Today is good but I am sick of not chewing. I want to gulp water also....and a soon as I do.....eeekkkkk! But on the up side I have lost over 15 lbs in a week! Things are getting better.

Hi. Day 10 post-op. I'm doing well. I do miss chewing. Today I had a scrambled egg for breakfast. OMG. An egg never tasted so good. The protein shakes are starting to get O L D..... As for my numbers... I'm down 15 lbs since surgery and 61 lbs from the pre-op diet. No pains no real discomfort. It's going to be a great summer for us.

I was sleeved on 2/3/13 and down about 7lbs. I really hate the protein drinks, although the unjury ones mixed with unsweetened coconut milk are not bad.

After surgery my taste buds totally changed and protein shakes sucked, found one , then couldn't do it. Now, I am four months out and since about a month out I use milk as my protein drink. I have a cup of milk (not a milk fan, and I'm lactose intolerant so I use lactaid milk), with a scoop of Ovaltine. I am four months out and down just over 95 pounds since surgery date. As for the gulping there is this bottle called a Camelbak bottle, get it, it is amazing and you will be amazed at the differance. My program really pushes these bottles, and no they don't sell them so they don't do it to make money. I've noticed a huge diff with in and swear by it. You can get them at Dicks Sporting good, even cheaper if you google 'cheap Camelbak bottle'. Hope this helped

Anybody have bad back pain? I'm 5 days post op

YES. I had back pain for the first 7 days. Mine was because of gas. So I had to move around and rub the spot that was hurting to help move the gas through. My dr. Suggested gas x or something like that.

Thank you I'm doing that now, hopefully this too will pass soon
