I was in the store yesterday and saw Starr Jones-Reynolds new look and information about new her show on the cover of several magazines. Has she ever admitted other than a Medical interventiopn changing her life" that she has has some form of WLS considering she went from 303 to 124 lbs? She looks great, I'm just curious.:rolleyes

welp...im not going to wear a tshirt stating it, does that mean im not supportive of you?

of course not.

its a personal choice.

i just think its hypocritical for you guys to slam her. its my smelly opinion. we all have one.

Hey Lizrbit, I have found that women can be crueler to each other and more ruthless than men can be, to be honest. I reckon positive energy and thoughts towards others will bring positivity into your own life.

Ok so Star is at it again. She is making more money off a tell-all article. Here is the yahoo story about it:

Star Jones to open up about weight loss - Yahoo! News

I watched her when she was on the view and always thought she was a beautiful woman even as heavy as she was. I think when you know someone that is heavy and they loose a lot of weight they do look totally different and sometimes it is hard to relate to that person because they do look so different.

Personally my first reaction when I first saw her after she had lost all that weight was that she looks terrible. But that is so unfair. You cannot compare who she was to who she is now. She is still beautiful and should be extremely pround of herself and her achomplishment!

I feel now that Laila Ali has a tell all book which is doing pretty good...Well you get the picture. I feel she has drawn this secret out so long simply for publicity. With the weight loss, she has a right.

I agree 100% that she has the right to privacy, and to keep her weightloss method secret. BUT....she wrote a "tell all" book and used that as a way to sell her book. She claimed it was going to explain how she changed her life. The book told NOTHING. There were a huge amount of despate women that bought that book hoping to learn her secret. If she wanted to keep it a secret she should have said, this book is about my marriage and how love happened for me. I am more upset that she made money by lying and still not informing women of her struggle. I truly believe that she kept it a secret because the doctor made her pay for the surgery. She was willing to let the media into her wedding for a cost, she got everything for free or almost free by selling out. I believe that she made the same offer to the doctor and they said no, so she kept that information quiet. I also remember when she left the view they said one of the reasons they let her go was because the viewer didn't trust her after the wedding fiasco and the book problems. Maybe courtTV made her come clean before starting her show? Or maybe this article is all fluff too. We shall see. ~Mandy

interesting ... I personaly think that she had the bypass because of the look soon after her loss, but I just saw her new look and I think that she is filling out nicely. Who knows why she won't disclose it.. maybe she was just sick and tired of people talking about her weight... but that is the price you pay to be famous, and her not talking about it has kept it a topic.. which could ALSO be a reason for the mystery..... :D

I have great deal of respect for Star considering how she handled the ABC/Barbara Walters thing & for how she took control of her health and did what she needed to do.

She looks good....

She does look really good, she just needs to either be honest, or stop selling her tell all stories that really tell nothing. ~Mandy

Actually it's Laila's half-sister Khaliah who wrote "Fighting Weight". I have always suspected that she is one of those celebrities who are paid by the manufacturer to promote the band (call me cynical).

If someone offered me free things for my wedding I would take it in a heart beat. And if I could write a book about my life and make a lot of money I would. She said it was a book about how she changed her life. She did not say it was a book about her weight loss. Give the lady a break. She's only human. And I hope nobody talks about my looks now that I have lost weight. Seeing what everyone says about her makes me wonder if people are just trying to be nice when they tell me I look great. This is the kind of criticism is what made me so self conscious and depressed all through school. I guess you just cant make some people happy. Just had to put in my opinion.

JJB, that is what I was thinking too. Boy I sure hope people arent going to be saying those things about me, especially when they find out that I had WLS to lose all this weight.

JJB and areellady, I doubt anyone is saying negative things about either of you. I have a problem with the way Star went about everything. I think it's great she had surgery, and lost so much weight. I actually think she looks much better now with a few pounds back on, she was a bit too thin for a while. I'm happy for anyone that is losing weight and feeling better because of it. ~Mandy
