Hi, im noticing every time I drink my optifast 800 shakes my heart beats faster. I also get the sharts! Anyone else have the same experience? Could it be sugar rush from the drink?

It could actually be dumping from the sugar. Both of those things are symptoms of dumping. Talk to your dietitian about trying an alternative protein source. Optifast is pretty high in sugar for the protein you get.

Thanks, never thought it could be that. Does anyone have any other suggestions other than optifast vanilla shakes? I really only prefer vanilla.

I have a hard time w sugars. I like Jay Robb protein shakes. The vanilla is good. I think vitamin shoppe has sample packets you can buy to try first.

I actually can't believe Optifast is even recommended as a protein/ weight loss drink. 20g carbs?! The first ingredient (besides water) is sugar. And if that's not enough, they add corn syrup solids! There are much better RTD shakes out there with more protein and way less carbs. For example, Premier Protein chocolate has 30g protein and only 5g carbs- of which 3g is fiber. Definitely talk to your nut. Or check the labels of options next time you go shopping.

I would suggest Vanilla Premier protein shakes instead of the OptiFast. I did those years ago and couldn't stick with them. Premier shakes give you 30g of protein 160 calories very little sugar and almost no fat. Best thing is the fact that they are delicious! You can buy them at Sam's, Costco, BJ's etc. Sam's has the screw top one's at a good price. You can try a 4 pack at Walmart I saw them there the other day. Good luck to you!

It was suggested that I buy them from the nut at my doctors office, so I bought them. Just ordered Unjury sample pack, but will look into the premier at my local BJ's and jay robb at my local vitamin shoppe. Thanks for answering, love this website!
