Two Bites and hurt and vomitting

I am 3 weeks out and on soft food per program. I haven't had any issues tolerating food up to this point. Tonight for dinner I tried pulled BBQ chicken with tons of sauce. After two (well spaced and small) bites I start vomiting. Why would this happen?

I think chicken is a hard one, as is steak. I'm 4 weeks out and still can't do chicken. I'm thinking I will be able to eventually.

Meatballs I can do if I cut them up really well and moisten with some tomato sauce.

If you are on soft foods, regular chicken is not part of that. It should be canned chicken or fish. It might also be the sauce, its full of sugar and you are probably not used to it.

Try sticking with canned for now, you may be able to tolerate it much better.

I am 5 weeks and can barely do chicken.. Chicken is too hard for 3 weeks out for your stomach to digest. And also the BBQ sauce is too rich..probably a little too spicy.

I can eat very little chicken.. Just started yesterday. My nut said to cut it up in pea size and chew it slowly and thoroughly . I did good the first time I ate chicken.. But that night I tried again and I regurgitated it. Probably did not break it down enough. It is trial time for us.
