I rarely use the bathroom anymore?

I've been on soft foods for two days but found even when i was on the full liquids diet i hardly ever use the bathroom. I used to poop 2 - 3 times a day. Now i go once every 3 - 4 days. The same thing happens when i pee. I used to wake up in the morning bursting.

Now it feels like the slightest bit of pressure to the point i've often laid in bed an hour or so reading/enjoying bed before getting up to pee. In the past i couldn't do that because I would wake up and need to relieve myself right away or it would start to hurt.

Before surgery i never drank plain Water because it'd go right through me and i'd have to pee within 20 minutes. Now i drink 17oz of water and wait an hour and don't have to pee. I probably urinate 3 times a day when i used to go 6 - 10 times a day.

I am only drinking water at this point. No more sodas, coffee, juice, or Powerade. Occassionally i drink Crystal Light but i really just like water best.

My pee isn't clear, but it's light yellow. I think that means I'm not dehydrated, or does the infrequent urination mean i am? What's going on?

Thanks! Nurse also on L&D unit so know the spill I tell my patients before they go home. And I do ok until I hit 12 days with no BM then I'm up for anything. I've been doing my own "removal" and I'm just grasping at straws for something that'll work. I've had this problem since my sleeve. My surgeon recommended increasing water and some mag citrate :( yuck!! But now that we are all cleaned out, hoping to keep up with water, fiber, and smooth moves tea twice a week. I spoke with a lady at church tonight who had very similar issue and she said hers got better with time

Kindred spirits! I did mother/baby before moving over to managed care. I'm wondering about the fiber though..... It can be a double-edged sword. Given the sizing issues are you sure it won't produce the same bulk you're trying to avoid? I avoid it like the plague.

Now it sounds gross, but have you ever given a milk and molasses enema? We used to do this for hospice patients.

My issues resolved in a week, but it was a very painful result. I'm not sure I would keep pushing the laxatives, "bulkiness" is an issue.

Yea. Been wondering about the fiber but dr said it would help. Thought abt using soap suds enemas.... Idk. It's been 3 months and not seeing a lot from fiber. Just tired of digging ya know

I've also been having issues. My doctors office says to try Benefiber and that as I eat more and am able to add more fiber it will get better. In the meantime I'm taking Ducoclox and that's helping a bit.

I've been drinking benefiber for 2 months. Good luck!

Prunes have been my answer. Just in case anyone that subscribed to this still has trouble. Now go every day to every other day. Only thing I had to do different was eat them. Lol. Don't particularly like them but after 3 a day for about 3 days, went for first time in 9 days and have been goin ever since. Good luck guys ;)
