New to lap band

Hello my name is Stacey and I am new to lap band. I will be getting it done in a few weeks. And I am so excited. I am 5'5 weigh 212 and am 33 years old and I am always in pain. I have four beautiful kids and I am ready to be healthier for them and me. I have not even been swimming in six years. It will be nice to put on a bathing suit and feel good. I am not looking for a bikini just a one piece but feel good about it. And I am looking for people to support me thrue the trials that I will go thrue. Thank you to anyone who supports me. :(

Hi Stacey, i'm new too...congrats on having a date already! Keep us posted on your progress.

Stacey,

Are you from Texas? I am also 5'5" and about 215. I am going for my 1st consultation tomorrow. A little nervous, but excited. I have no doubts about what I am doing. I saw your screen name and your height and weight and thought that sounds just like me. If you are from texas, what area and what doctor are you using?

Cheryl S.

Stacey,

I live near Dallas. I was hoping you were from around here. I hope to be having my surgery in a few weeks. I got a call from my doctor today. I am actually have two surgeries at one time. I think I am crazy for doing that but it will save me a lot of money in the long run. My insurance is covering one and while I am already in the operating room under anesthesia, my weight doctor is going to come in and do the band.

Good luck to you. What is your surgery date?

Keep me posted.

Cheryl S.

Welcome lctexas

Best wishes on your upcoming surgery keep us posted...I am always here as one of your support people...so just holler if you want to chat or xchange emails or anything...I also have two very beautiful healthy children and I am looking forward to living a long and healthy life and not missing out on any of the 'milestones' they are just too important. BTW I braved my swimsuit last week and although I am not looking totally as I would like to yet...my weightloss so far has made a BIG difference...I am not 'hanging out of it' nearly as much as i used too.

:) becky
