Hey everyone. Questions, how many incisions do you have? Are they all the same size, where is your port located?

I have 5 incisions, 4 small and one that's about an inch or so long. My surgeon put my port right underneath it. This is incision is taking forever to heal. I was thinking maybe because my port right right there.

i have 6 incisions, but my surgeon was trying to do a by pass at first. so thats the reason i have so many. the longest one i had was about 5 inches long. and it is where my port is. right in the center on my right side below the rib cage and above the waist line. the others are all over my abdoman about 1 inch in length. it did take longer for the long incision to heal. i had the staples removed on my 2nd week post op. best to you and hope you have a speedy recovery

My incisions are like yours. and the large one is where your port is. It is, usually, the one that takes the longest to heal..Best wishes.Karen..aka.kll724

Thanks for sharing. My doctor put my port almost at the top of my abdomen and just about in the middle. I can easily feel my port. Wow five inches long and I'm complaining over a inch or so long incision.

My incision is about 1 1/2 " long almost center left. I think due to an overinlarged liver. Mine took longer than the other 3. I'm coming up to 4 months banded. Can't eat today except a few sliders but nothing substantial. I can usually eat salad and fish...but after first few bites up it came and now I think my throat might be a liitle swollen. It's a very uncomfortable feeling.

Ouch. That must be uncomfortable. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I have no nausea, haven't thrown up and I'm able to keep everything down.

Thanks for sharing. I just hit my one month yesterday. I don't mind the scars cause I have lots of them but once this completely heals I'm going to try that Mederma. I wonder if that stuff really works.

Hi there, I have five incisions, too -- with the one for the port a bit more prominent. I figure I'm not going to be nude sunbathing any time soon, but who knows. Once in a while I use Vitamin E or castor oil on the scars but they are mostly disappearing on their own.

My doctor used something called a spider. I have an incision in my belly button (maybe an inch) that everything wet through and one more dot in the center of my chest below my bra line. The funny thing is, is that I'm pretty bruised to the right of my belly button (visibly on the skin as if I was hit with a baseball but it doesn't hurt), but the port is on the left side and very tender.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
