I am 4 days post op, do I need to drink 64oz of water plus the protein or is the protein included in the 64oz?

Hi for me it included the protein I just made sure I had my protein then as much water as I could in between. Good luck

My doctors told me the opposite. They said to focus on water 1st as dehydration can lead to serious issues. I'm 11 days out and I average 32oz h2o, 8 oz tea, 8 oz protein shake. I had to work up to that. The 1st week I was lucky to get 1 16oz bottle of water in. It will come in time.

I was eating and drinking so little those first few weeks that I counted anything with Water in it towards my Fluid intake. sugar free popsicles, Crystal Light, broth...

But when in doubt, you should refer back to your doc. I was lucky to have been sent home with a packet of guidelines that I could read over when I was unsure of something.

Keep Pimpin' that Sleeve!

I'm supposed to count everything without caffeine as a fluid.
