The doctor prescribed Colase following surgery due to constipation. If one is only sipping water or liquids all day 2-5 days following surgery, will the body even need to pass a BM?

Your body is constantly producing urine and feces no matter if you are just drinking or eating there is always feces in your intestines unless you have done a total cleansing prep like what you would do for a colonoscopy. What ever you are putting in there it has to come out.

I took Colace after the surgery (july, 2012) and because of issues I take it every day with Mira-lax, also. How fun is that! The Colace tastes really bad, I put it into my shakes and the Mira-lax into my hot tea.

I used it twice and then I was fine p.s. It says you can take 2 to 4 TBSP don't take the 4 will give violent diarrhea.
