  • Popular Post

Well I finally have a surgery date set to Jan 8th. I am so excited that it's finally approaching. I have been on this journey since August! I can not explain how thrilled and excited I am. I have so many thoughts that goes through my mind like what should I pack? Etc. Anyone else have a date for January?

  • I am having my surgery on Jan 7!! I'm really excited but also very nervous... I'm 23 years old. I don't know many people as young as me that's gotten it done.

Kcamp...I'm doing better, thank you for asking. I just called and for my surgery time. Its tomorrow at 1pm, so my arrival time is 11am. I'm feeling much better knowing that there's a high probability of my "stroke level" blood pressure decreasing, my diabetes being resolved and my severe back pain subsiding. How are you?

I'm hanging in. Counting the days! Thanks.

Hi Jessie, do you have to fast from midnight till after surgery? I don't know my time till the day before so this Sunday afternoon they will call me. I hope it's early in the morning I get severe shakes and headaches if I don't eat breakfast.

Do you have to do a bowel prep?? My surgery is Monday, they said they'd call on Friday. But I can only have liquids and my laxative on Sunday:-( yuk. Good luck to you, I hope to hear how great we are all feeling next weekend!

I have surgery Monday as well and I don't have to do a bowel prep at all. I am just having a hard time keeping my sugar up. It's been in the low 70's all day. Any advice to keep it up. My surgeon wants me to eat yogurt, sf fudge sickles and sf pudding but nothing is doing the trick.

My NUT suggested apple juice it your sugar gets too low. :-)

I had a 2 day bowel prep called MoviPrep. It didn't work until 4 hours later. I had the worst abdominal cramps BUT it worked and that's all that matters.

Oh wow, I didn't realize some people have to do it for 2 days. I drink my Moviprep tomorrow starting at 6 pm. I couldn't imagine having to drink it for 2 days.

I drank it in October and I gulped it down as fast as I could to get it over with. Lol. I'm not looking forward to it again.

Surgery in the morning. I'm a nervous wreck..my stomach is turning flips. I'm ready to get this over with....Good luck to all having surgery tomorrow....looking forward to waking up A NEW ME!!!!!

Kcamp- Thanks!!! I'll keep everyone posted. Mine is at 1pm.

Started my pre op liquid diet this morning, 14 days...

I am 3 days post op and still so very sore. I had the open RNY so I didn't expect to bounce back so fast, but my ribs are hurting so bad I feel like I've been hit by a car! I have my follow up today so hopefully I get to go home to my own comfy bed :)

Was the open RNY your choice or were there circumstances involved?
