On my way to pre-op!!!

One step closer :-)

Got a lot of information today during my preop appointment. Talked with anesthesiologist and nurse. I'll be on a liquid diet beginning January 2nd consisting of 4 protein shakes and clear liquids. Yum! Can't wait!! I'm just so ready for my RNY!!!!

Mine is January 8th, as well.

Hi! My surgery is scheduled for January 6 also! I am excited and nervous both. I have a two week shake diet along with clear liquids. That starts December 23. So no Christmas dinner. :( but it will be fine. I just have to think about my goals for the long term and not focus on now.

Same here ":D

Mine is January 8, as well! There are a couple of us now!

I am having mine with Dr. Aceves. I see that you had planned to go with him as well. What changed your mind?

4meonly- I changed jobs and got insurance that covers the procedure so I'm having it in the States. I've heard he's excellent though!

Eroper, what kind of preop diet will you be on the day before surgery?

I will be on a liquid diet for one week before surgery. I can't remember if Dr. Aceves requires a pre-op diet.

Starting my pre-op two week protein shake diet today. The count down is starting! I am trying really hard not to freak myself out worrying. Trying to just not think about it for now. If I dwell on it too much, I will be a nervous wreck. :)

You can do this! This is the easy part. I am here with you.

I along with you also started my 2 week liquid diet today. I'm not suppose to start it until the 25th but I wanted my body to get adjusted to not eating solids, just in case I cave in! So far so good. I decided to keep myself busy. The worst part was cooking Breakfast this morning; the smell of bacon was getting to me. I grab one, put it in my mouth and just spit it back out before even attempting to chew. I am stronger than this, I can do it is what I keep telling myself. I just hope it gets better as the seconds, minutes, hours, and days go by. We can do it!
