  • Will your surgeon let you try different shakes. Mine let me have what ever shakes I wanted as long as they met certain guidelines. As others have said, just suck it up and do it. It'll be worth it

My advice is to just do it...Its the worst thing ive ever experienced in a very long time but its just one of those things....Its only a two week deal...get over it and just do it...

Im on my 3rd day of pre-op liquids and its just a mind set. I thought it would be a lot harder than it is. Im surprised how well i am doing. Although i almost threw up on my way home the other day from the nasty shake...lol. I think you just have to look at it as though this is one more step in the process. Good luck with everything. :)

I did clear Soups with lots of spices & seasonings for flavor. , popsicles, Jello, Protein shakes. Hang tough!

Shake world definitely gets easier after the first couple of days. Surgeons have different requirements, but I also used broth with spices, etc. And Popsicles -- helped to change things up. Teas. Drank lots of water to flush out my system (I add a splash of unsweetened cranberry to a 32oz. jar of water and a capful of aloe Vera). And by the end of my two-week pre-op I had four or five different shakes to choose from. The goal is to shrink your liver -- I was happy to drop some weight before the surgery as that is weight I won't be seeing again. Good luck to you -- try to stay distracted. And if you can walk, even a bit at a time, that is such a great way to prepare your mind and body. It will really help once your band is in to walk, walk, walk and starting now will set all of that up ahead of time. Best wishes -- I am day five post-op and so happy!

you wont starve

I felt the same way although my shakes weren't nasty :) I used cold coffee to make coffe style drinks had a variety and drank lots a water never thought I'd manage but I did dropped 20lbs during that phase my surgeon was thrilled!! Stay focused this is a journey and you will get there and soon it won't be so bad when you get ur fills 2 days in liquid will be a breeze. N remember "we" are here fir you. This site was one of my biggest supports cause only you all know what's its like. Stay focused :)

Will your surgeon let you try different shakes. Mine let me have what ever shakes I wanted as long as they met certain guidelines. As others have said, just suck it up and do it. It'll be worth it in the long run. After surgery the diet isnt so hot either but it keeps getting better.
