I am 3 weeks out tomorrow and down 12 pounds. I am eating Protein Shakes, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, eggs, applesauce ... I get to start eating real food this Wednesday after I see my nutritionist.

My new stomach/sleeve feels fine, tolerating everything so far. I am still having pain in the abdominal muscles, though, which is frustrating. It is the central two incisions and only hurts if I bend at the waist. I haven't taken any pain medication since 5 days after surgery. I am looking forward to the muscles healing and being able to be more active without worrying about hurting myself.

I was sleeved on 09/18 and I've lost 21 pounds. Have been in a bit of a stall for the past 10 days but I'm still pleased with my weight loss so far. Tried cottage cheese, which I love, and it made me ill. Same with eggs. I can eat string cheese, any kind of yoghurt, applesauce, Soup, the odd Protein Shake. Invested in a box of Protein Bars and only managed to eat half of one as they are huge. Been having diarrhoea off and on, but I'm not sure if this is related to my sleeve as a few people have been off in my work. Been sick a few times but this has been mainly due to me drinking too quickly. It is mainly trial and error just now. No problem with my incisions and my stitches were out after 10 days. My doctor has already dropped 2 of my 4 blood pressure pills. I go back to see him on Wednesday and we'll see what my BP is like then.

This has been the best decision of my life and I don't regret it one bit.

Hi! I will be three weeks out on Wednesday. I did have a bad infection in one of the incisions, the one on the right abdomen, which is the one where they pull the stomach out thru. I also had my gallbladder out at the same time, and they think that is what caused the infection. So....I am dr. ing that, but other than that, I feel great. Still on puree, will start softs on Tuesday. Still off work, dr. didn't want me back until I am more healed. Oh....lost 25 pounds since surgery, but......pants still as tight as they were before surgery!! Not regreting this at all!

Sleeved 9/18, so 3 1/2 weeks out. I'm eating scrambled eggs, smoothies, Greek yogurt, Soups, chicken (which I either chew to death or purée), chicken salad, cream of wheat,

oatmeal, SF pudding and SF Popsicles. Last night I had a few bites of filet minion and it went down fine. I've been walking 30-45min a day, but no other exercise.

Oh and I'm down 25lbs (starting weight 234.4, current weight 209.2).

I'll be three weeks tomorrow. I've only lost 10 pounds from my surgery day. I feel like I'm doing something wrong because I'm reading other numbers like 20-30 pounds lost already! I'm allowed pureed foods now and I'm trying to eat some pureed meats for Protein, but I find I'm still getting most of my protein from shakes. food doesn't sit too well in my stomach yet.

I will be three weeks on Tuesday. I started at 221 and at 10 days post op I was 201. However, I have not seen the scale move since. Very frustrating. I am on full liquids, so I am eating cottage cheese, greek yogurt, Soups, yams. I am having a lot of trouble with Protein Shakes. I seem to be allergic to them. I have tried Unjury and Vitamin Shoppe brands so far. Proti something seems to be ok, but I only have the grape drink which is very thick, yuck! I also have trouble getting in 64 ounces of Fluid. I Have a 20 oz coffee n the a.m. and then I forget to always carry a drink with me during the day as I run errands.

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣
