Share Your NSVs Here Please!

  • Popular Post

I know there's been a zillion threads on this, but what's one more right?

I am seeing A LOT of people so hung up on the scale that they're missing the Non Scale Victories (yes that's what NSV means).

So, please list your NSVs here! It doesn't matter how big or how small, we want to hear it!

Mine are (in no particular order):

  • The ability to sit in any chair I want without worrying if I'll fit or break it
  • The ability to sit in booths at restaurants
  • Flying without needing a seat belt extender
  • No longer wearing plus sized clothes
  • Trying on a size 'large' shirt and finding it's too big- and buying a size 'medium'
  • Walking by mirrors while shopping and thinking "wow I look cute" instead of "ugh gross"
  • Being very active in my kids' lives
  • Going from needing a cane to get around the house to walking 2 miles a day unaided
  • No longer having high blood pressure or high blood sugar.
  • No longer having a sleep apnea (or even snoring anymore)
  • Not being recognized by people who haven't seen me since getting my band (literally)
  • Being able to wear cute, stylish clothes (I've become a shopping addict!)
  • Sitting with my legs crossed
  • Being told I look more like my almost 19yr old daughter's sister rather than her mother

Jim even with the layers you still look thin.. fantastic for you... I am so awed by the amount of weight you have lost.. You are a rock star ....

Thank you Sharpie :)

Yes , I've noticed to that I don't get as winded. It feels good.

Who's that sexy guy???

That my butt and back hurt....LOL ok not so much the pain but the fact that I spent all day yesterday pulling carpet and painting a spare room without wearing out. Climbing ladders, crawling all over the wood floor, etc.

went back to my original wedding ring set, the second set was slipping out of my finger. Excited!

Almost forgot about that one. I haven't worn my wedding band on my hand in almost 8 months because it kept falling off. Now I wear it around my neck on a chain with my medical (band) dog tag. Figure once I finally bottom out with my losing I will get it re sized.

I've worked at the same place for 8 years. Yesterday our maintenance guy (who I haven't seen in awhile) came into my office, held out his hand for me to shake, and said, "You must be new, I'm Dan, nice to meet you." I was like, "Ummm, Dan, we've met! I've only worked here for 8 years!" HA! He couldn't believe how different I look!

Looking good Jim and Kelly! Even layered clothes are huge! Jim, my wedding ring was a 6, I had it cutoff about 23 years ago. i had it fixed for my personal Christmas present last year. It hasn't been off since. (replacement ring now I wear on my middle finger of my right hand).

All my pants are falling down just in time for the winter!! Calling Mr./Mrs.Tailor!! Not ready to be buying a whole new wardrobe for work just yet, so I'll take inventory and see the tailor for some alterations before everyone knows what color today's undergarments are :)

Lol that is too cute. I've been getting the same reaction from people I've known practically my whole life. Just last week, I had a guy that I hadn't seen in a long time ask me if I discovered the fountain of youth. Didn't realize how young I'm looking these days. So yes, I'm beaming. :)

I realized today my tummy no longer rubs the steering wheel when I am driving and I can see my thighs in the car seat instead of my belly

Being able to paint my own toenails, no big tummy in the way ! Going from a frumpy size 18 to a cute size 10!

Oh, the cute clothes.... i love goodwill !! Running ! The daily compliments , the fact that that I no longer have sleep apnea !, liking what I see in the mirror, my hubbys compliments"your legs are so thin !," and cuddling " you're so much smaller ! " feeling better all around, not feeling yucky all the time, etc....... I want to shout it from the rooftops to every overweight person I see " there's

' a solution and its called lap band !!!
