Egg drop soup

Does anybody know if egg drop soup would be considered broth? I will love to have something savory like that.

I was told no by someone on this forum but I made it and ate it all through my broth and mushie stage. The eggs blend in with the broth so much I didn't see a problem. I would imagine it would be up to your doctor for the final say but it sure satisfied my hunger.

I am on my pre-op diet and didn't know if it was okay.

I strained it and got most of the egg out but there's no way to fully get it to just broth...it was delicious..that and won ton soup....it got me through :-)

So glad to hear this. Thanks and good luck to you!

Swanson makes a hot and sour broth. I mix is half and half with low sodium beef broth. Then I add 1 scoop of unflavored protein powder. Nice when I want to have something warm. I've had it a couple of times during my pre-op diet week. Has lots of sodium, so I'm limiting it.

That was my Breakfast today!!!! I try to strain out most of the noodles and the egg doesn't really worry me. It's filling and tastes pretty good. This is the brand I'm currently using.
