  1. Thanks so much for your replies. I am still trying to figure all of this out.
  2. I have seen these terms used. What exactly do these mean? I just got my first fill yesterday and wondering if I will get these things. Thanks!
  3. Has anybody eaten popcorn since having lap band? I was just wondering because we were going to go to the movies and that is one of the best parts. I just didn't know if anybody had trouble with it.
  4. This must sound like crazy question, but how much does everybody eat at a meal. The doctor told me to stop eating when I feel full. Well, I am so paranoid and I know that I am not eating nearly enough as I am afraid. Has anybody had the problem of nothing tasting right? I could have lived off coffee before surgery, now I have a couple of sips and don't really like it anymore. Also, has anybody eaten pancakes during the pureed/soft stages?
  5. You have no idea how much I appreciate all of the thoughts and opinions. My husband and I are both having the surgery the same day. He is doing just great. I am sure I will get there. This pre-op diet is just awful. I am so tired of protein shakes. I know a pity party for myself. Congrats to all of you who have gone through this before me. You are all a huge inspiration. Thanks!
  6. Thanks for the advise. I am hoping that I am just being a baby and getting tired of protein shakes. Maybe it is PMS. I keep telling myself that I need this or I won't be around for long. I am going to take your advise and make a list. thanks!
  7. Is anybody or has anybody gone through this? I am beginning to question my choice for the surgery. I know that I need it and I know that it is the best thing I could ever do for myself, but I am really getting scared for the future. I realize that this sounds so trivial, but I guess we you are talking about yourself if seem much bigger. When I am invited on outings can I eat with them. If we go on a cruise the next time, will I be able to eat. That type of stuff. I am doing well on my pre-op diet. Half way there as I am getting banded 10/22/13.
  8. So glad to hear this. Thanks and good luck to you!
  9. I am on my pre-op diet and didn't know if it was okay.
  10. Does anybody know if egg drop soup would be considered broth? I will love to have something savory like that.
  11. This might be a dumb question, but on the pre-op diet since you are allowed to have as much broth as you want, do any of you think that egg drop soup would be okay. It is mostly broth with just a little bit of egg in it. Or even buy the packet to make it and don't put the egg in it. I bought some packets of broth that are sodium free and they aren't too easy to get down.
  12. I'm not sure what I did to make this underline, but today is my first day of pre-op diet. I can't say that I am hungry, but I want to eat everything in sight still. I am hoping that this will go away.
  13. I noticed coughing was mentioned. I will have my hernia repaired when banded and was curious about the cough. What does this have to do with the hernia? I cough a lot and thought it was asthma! I am wondering if I will be lucky enough to lose the cough too!
  14. We are doing our pre-op testing on Monday. We are excited but scared. This might sound stupid, but before you all started your pre-op diets did you think "well, we won't eat this again"? I guess it is nerves.
  15. My surgery date is October 22!!!
