Hey everyone! Just a quick update... had my surgery on friday, took my surgeon about 1hr & 20mins. Recovery was hard the first hour I felt a lot of pain I was not expecting. After the pain meds kicked in (dilaudid) I was fine. I was up and walking the next day. Im passing gas and urinating on my own. I have made it to 2oz of liquid in 1hr and if I can do 4oz in an hr I can go home tonight. I have been sitting up and putting on my slipper socks alone. I still have a drainage tube from my stomach which comes out before I leave I have slept on my right side and my back both are comfortable for me. All is well. Hoping everyone else has a smooth surgery and post op!

I came home yesterday. Took pain med on an empty stomach and got very nauseous. I can tolerate the pain but the nausea is the worst! Drinking but not taking in food yet. I did some soup yesterday but not interested at home.

I just had my surgery 12/12 I know where your coming from with the fustration. Just stay focused and learn alot about protein and shakes and what not to do after surgery. You will have a date in no time.

Sugar free vanilla pudding just became my favorite thing ever. Not much protein but at least there's a little calcium. Also loving refried beans with a little mild taco sauce that was recommended to me on this thread. :-) So sick of "chicken salad" and cottage cheese. Blah.

Also good luck to all the remainder of December surgeries!!!

I am to allowed to eat anything as long as pureed. .just have to make sure it is the consistency of cream of wheat!!! Can put unflavored protein in the food.

Lucky you! I can't have any pork products with the exception of pork tenderloin which I hate. No red meat for 6 months and no starches for 6 months. After week ten I can slowly introduce normal foods minus the starches and red meat.

I should clarify...I say everything but you are right. Pork and no red.meat for long time. No asparagus, bacon, or steak. And supposed to be on pureed for at least 3 weeks and then soft foods. I am very careful and a bit hyper vigilent as to not go overboard. I am really not eatting much.

Hi, I had my surgery on 12/19 and came home 12/21. I had some broth that night (ick), and had some of my day 1 diet yesterday. I'm focusing mostly on the water and trying to get some of the protein in. I'm a little nauseous this morning, but generally ok. I'm wondering if that's because I took some Tylenol (allowed) on an empty stomach last night. Do what you can with the food, but definitely stay hydrated. I think that can cause nausea too.

My surgery is tomorrow wish me luck I'm so nervous but I have great support have a good night everyone

Good luck!!

Woohoo, that's awesome! Kiss 300+ goodbye! I came home from surgery on 12/21 up 8 pounds, but have lost 6 of those in the last two days. I can't wait til I see some net loss.
