August 22, 201312 yr You will do FABULOUS!! This pre-op diet stuff stinks but we can make it! Think of all the great things that are in store for us after the sucky part is over!!

I had my surgery with Dr. Eagon the 22nd. You're only 2 days away right? Good luck! I wasn't nervous the day of surgery, I was ready to get to the other side. I don't like the healing process though. It's hard for me to be down physically so I don't think it's actually hit me that I've had the surgery yet because all I can focus on is the pain/incisions.

August 26, 201312 yr I went in Thursday to have the surgery. When I woke up in the recovery room, I was told that my surgery took 5 hours! When he went in to do the RNY, everything went well and he was done with that in about 2 hours. Then, he saw a hernia (I knew I had one but every dr before Dr. Eagon would downplay it), and went to repair it. While trying to fix that he noticed my bowels were all tangled up with the hernia so in addition to the lap cuts I have, I also have an open cut on my lower abdomen which makes my recovery a little bit harder. I came home with a drainage tube also so that doesn't make it any better. It still doesn't feel real to me, except the fact that I am not hungry and have to force myself to sip liquids all day because I'm so focused on my physical limitations.
