Hi my name is karla an im from connecticut i recently went to my first weight loss class and i decided that surgery is the way to go but still confused as to what to do where to start a lil bit scared but positive!

Yes congrats! Hopefully ill be there soon did my first cardiology appt but i guess before seeing te surgeon theres a looooot stuff to do its good to talk to people that are underatanding of what youre going through thanks!

Congrats for making that first step!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some insurance requires your primary care Dr. to do a referral to a surgeon. Check with them. But I called and made an appt with the surgeon earlier this month. Already had most of my pre op testing done, like blood work, EKG, chest Xray and upper GI. Got clearance from my cpap Dr. Friday and go to cardiologist tomorrow. You will have alot of appts at first! I will also have to meet with a dietitcan for 3 months before insurance will approve me. Pych eval will have to be done. But it's going to be soooo worth it!!!

Good luck!!! I did cardiology appt and next apptis my initial with my surgeon so excited scared mixed emotions but looking foward go first to a beautiful future for me and my family

I just recently started the process as well...excited to go thru this with the many supportive people on here...im hoping for an August surgery date...right now that seems ages away. Patience has never been a characteristic of mine...keep telling myself time will fly...ugh!!! Lol
