I'm five days Post Op and having a hard time

Did any one else have a hard time getting in the Water and Protein they needed to post op?

I keep saying I'm going to drink my three Protein drinks but I get half way through one and I'm full. I drink water throughout the day but it's not the 50ox they want me getting

It's like I don't have enough hours in the day to get all the nutrients I need.

I tried using the unjury unflavored protein in my other foods but I can't stomach the taste.

I can't handle the unflavored. Gag. and yes, it is typical not to be able to get it all in. Just keep really hydrated and work up to your protein limits. I'm three months out and there are days I can't get it in. Each day gets better!

Whew thank you. I was getting frustrated that I wasn't hitting those numbers.

Milk and a pack of sugar free hot chocolate mix or a fruit smoothie (mango strawberry banana) is my Fav when using unjury unflavored.

It is hard but try not to worry. I don't feel deprived or run down. You just try and make the next day better and each day does get a little easier.

You won't feel hungry post surgery so while mentally you might think about them because you feel satisfied with what you have it's a lot easier to say no.

Plus I've heard once you've had one dumping experience with a food you avoid it like the plague. So even if down the line you do slip up it's easy to get back on track.

As worm said, you won't be able to make the Protein or Water goals for a while. My doctor said the first two weeks focus on staying hydrated. The protein will come later. So I focused on water, SF Popsicles Jello and Soup. Good luck! It will get better.

Get some unflavored protein powder that you can add to your water or fruit2o...also go to a bariatric supply store were they have things like lemon tea, fruit punch, strawberry kiwi protein for water...
