April Dates

Is it too early to start an April thread? I didn't see one yet.

I'm scheduled for April 22. I still have to finish PCP clearance and psych then insurance approval but don't anticipate any problems. Once I started my appointments the excitement and anxiety kicked in. I started 6 month supervised diet in August....this used to seem so far away and like a vague idea but its so real now. My anxiety is double as my husband's date is march 18 and I worry a lot more about him than myself. How are all the other April folks doing?

You can do it, just keep everything scheduled the way it is. Have you tried the patch? That helped me a lot!

Any suggestions on vitamins for after

First day of two week pro-op. Had protein shake for breakfast and lunch. And I CAN'T WAIT for Dinner!! I'm not truly hungry but I do miss eating already. These next two weeks are going to be hard.

It will be good if you can try to quit one week before at least. The biggest thing is to not buy them. I am a social smoker and have been for several years. I am quitting cold turkey as of today, but it is not difficult for me, because I do not crave them. I smoke only at the bar. My husband is a smoker and I have watched him struggle for a while to quit. I think if you don't smoke the day before, the surgery will be the push you need to stop for good. Do what you think is best though.

Canna, I bought Celebrate vitamins---multivit, calcium and iron. They taste pretty good for a

Chewable vitamin. I ordered them from their website. They are specially for Bariatric patients. I got a three month supply of each and it cost me about$100. I didn't think that was too bad.

I'm going to also take a Biotin vitamin for my hair after surgery. The 7500 mg tablets. They say its good to take before the hair loss/thinning.

Had my pre op appointment today with my surgeon. Super excited and scared about the Lovenox injections I have to do... Pre op class with the RN Manager and pre admissions at the hospital tomorrow!

The way my husband started quitting is by attacking one habit at a time. First he quit smoking in his vehicle. Next he quit smoking at home, so he was only smoking at work and at the bar. He is still working on those. We won't be going to the bar anytime soon so that habit will be avoided. He quit buying them which has helped, but at work there are a lot of smokers and they keep offering him cigarettes if he will go on a smoke break with him.

I stay home during the day with my 2 yr old so i cant smoke much but when i need a minute to relax i go outside and have one so im trying to figure out what i can do when i need a quick 5 minute break i also was always a big smoker when i get on the phone so ive stopped that and now when i get on the phone i try to have a quick conversation with whoever it is before i get the urge to go outside for one
