April Dates

Is it too early to start an April thread? I didn't see one yet.

I'm scheduled for April 22. I still have to finish PCP clearance and psych then insurance approval but don't anticipate any problems. Once I started my appointments the excitement and anxiety kicked in. I started 6 month supervised diet in August....this used to seem so far away and like a vague idea but its so real now. My anxiety is double as my husband's date is march 18 and I worry a lot more about him than myself. How are all the other April folks doing?

Hi! I am Amber' date=' I am 27, and this is my first post here. I will be having surgery in April, and will find out the exact date this week. I am going through a military hospital and had several requirements to take care of before my final appt. 3psych visits, 4 nutrition visits, visits to a wellness center, and with the surgeon. Started the process on Jan. 23rd, so it hasn't taken all that long. Was able to forgo the 6-month diet since it is being done on post. I am so excited! This can't happen soon enough. I have chosen to not tell people about the surgery(other than my husband and mom). I am the "fat" one in a family of skinnies, lol, not looking to be judged or be called lazy. Pre-op diet is is 2 weeks of calorie restricted food consumption, then the typical post-op diet. I'm not going to lie, I just really want to be "skinny", tired of being the chunky mom at my daughters school. I have no co-morbidities, and technically no longer qualify for the surgery since I have lost a bit of weight, luckily the go by my initial weigh-in which put me at 40.1 bmi. I wasn't overweight until I got married. Wow, this seems more like a biography, lol. Well, here's to looking better and feeling better about ourselves![/quote']

Hey Amber!! Great to have you here :) let us know your date when you find out! I know how you feel--my sister is a Skinny Minnie too and it's always been hard to be the fat one. I'll probably never be as small as she is but at least I can be "normal".
