March Surgery Dates

I've seen topics where members having surgery in the same month have kinda banded together to offer support and encouragement to one another. I think this is a wonderful idea, and I'd like to see if there's anyone having surgery in March that would like to support one another.

I have a tentative date for the second or third week in March. I have UHC through Georgia Pacific and they use BRS for approvals. I don't expect any delays, nor does my surgeon's office, so she saved me a spot, so to speak, lol.

Tonight I have my psyc eval, and Monday is my information class, I have two more visits, 2/5 and 3/5 of my six month supervised diet, and on March 5th when I leave my PCP's office, I'll take my worksheet to the surgeon and we'll submit to insurance. That's where I'm at!

I'd love to talk with others that are looking at the same time frame as me!! :D

My tentative surgery date is March 4th. Just submitted to insurance yesterday and I go on vacation Sunday! I will be on my preop diet while on vacation! *Chanting in head* I can do this! I can do this!

I ordered a bunch of samples from Bariatric Pantry online. Syntax is good' date=' Unjury, too. For me, it is just trial and error. I hated Isopure. IMO it made me gag.[/quote']

Welcome to the group!!

Way to go

Welcome to the group!!

Someday I will figure how to reply off of my phone. But any way congratulations.

I had my EGD today...they found ulcers but said it will not push back surgery. Got meds for that. Also did EKG, labs and gallbladder ultrasound today as well. They said EKG was fine, don't know about labs but hopefully all will be ok for surgery march 5.

My surgery is 25 March--so ready for this. Hoping to get off the diabetes roller coaster. Am worried about the 2 week pre-surgery diet since I'm at bottom of where they will allow surgery. I'm doing this to try and beat the diabetes complications. Ladies in my nutrition class yesterday told me I was too skinny for this surgery. At 5'5" and 212 pounds I'm not exactly Olive Oil! Got to do what's best for my health. Tricare hoops were a pain but surgery day will be here before I know it!

Mayo is having me do this to for the diabetes issue among other issues. MS & MG

I am loving this so many different stories andb input all in one place. I am scared out of my mind' date=' yet excited at the same time about everything.....such a life changing event and it can only get better!!! Then three months later I'm getting married and moving to Georgia! Rollercoaster year for me! We must try to new you with everyone![/quote']

Where in Georgia? If its close to Jacksonville maybe we can have a couple of tablespoons of lunch together some day

Me too! I don't know how I'm' going to do it' date=' but I know I have too. My problem is how will I stop drinking coke?!?[/quote']

Get a soda stream is soda but with very little carbonation or none depending how much you put in it.

I am probably the grandma of the group. I am 60 and my grandson is 11 and my granddaughter is 9.

Bought myself a bike a couple of years ago and then required a hip replacement and could not ride it. Turned out the hip did not heal well and I have been walking around with a loose rod in my leg for two years and it hurts. It was to have been revised on 10/26 and the cancelled it about an hour before I was to leave for the hospital as my surgeon and his partner were going to do it together at the smaller hospital' date=' closer to me. It turned out that the hospital was simply not equipped for some things that are very likely to happen and it will be done at the big hospital across the state from me as soon as I heal well enough from the WLS. That is going to be a biggie and will haveme hobbling about on a walker for a long time.

We go to music festivals in the summer and my goal is to be able to be without a walker and able to ride my bike. I had my husband put a basket on the front and folding side baskets over the back fender so I could use it to go to the local stores. Oh, and I see I even have a pink hat and a pink & purple horn.

I am right behind you on the grandma list. I turn 50 but also have health issues beyond just my weight. Because of the MS & MG I can only do a light work out of 30 mins before my poor body just gives out. 2 years ago it stuck me like being hit by a freight train.
