  1. That's great!! I was approved and had surgery March 18 th. There was nothing to it. The only thing you should have to pay up front is your portion of the surgeons fee. After surgery you'll have to wait and see who bills first bc you are certain to meet your out of pocket max. I paid 940 so far. Best if luck!!
  2. How is everyone!! I miss you guys! What are you eating? How are you feeling?
  3. Once you vomit you should stick to clear liquids for 24 hours. But since you cleared the obstruction you should be feeling normal again pretty soon. Best of luck!
  4. It's been a few days!! Sorry I've missed y'all though!! Add me on myfitnesspal. It's easier if u search by email : kathypitcher@rocketmail.com. I'm doing good. Eating soft foods. I made the mistake of drinking through a straw the other day. Accidentally of course, and I was sick for almost an hour burping and puking until the HUGE air bubble I swapped finally decided to resurface. I also want to tell y'all about my new favorite food!! I bought the fresh pico de Galla at Bi-lo in the produce section and I mixed about half of it with an avocado and mushed it all together. OH MY GOODNESS!!! Soooooo good!! I want to see your food diaries on MFP so I can get some ideas!! My diary is viewable by MFP friends so add me!! Love you guys. Prayers for you all!
  5. 10 days post op down 13 pounds 29 total! Feeling good.
  6. Just checking in everyone. I'm six days post op and its been ups and downs. Pain has been very manageable. Just a lot of weak spells and some nausea. Just trying to get fluids in and walk and rest. I just want to throw out docs orders and sleep for days. I know the less I take in the worse I feel. I'll get there. I just need more time to heal right? I k ow it'll get better. My prayers are with tomorrow's surgery peeps. Love you guys. I need your prayers and positive thoughts. Still feeling really overwhelmed.
  7. The G tube is to help me get nutrients fluids while I'm learning my new pouch. I only have to have it for four weeks. It is a lot to take in but I'm okay with it. Just so stinking stuffed all the time.
  8. I'm having a good day! My biggest problem is being so full. I have a Gtube that goes to my remnant stomach, and I have to put two boost shakes in there as well as any of the 80oz of fluids that I can't get into my pouch each day. The problem is I don't feel like my remnant stomach is emptying like it should b/c it's always full, I have to constantly open the tube and empty my stomach. I'm getting around good, and having minimal pain. The key to getting rid of the gas is to walk!! That does it every time. Everytime I get up and walk for even ten minutes, I have to pee and pass gas, sometimes even a BM. So walk, walk, walk. I just want to feel normal and not so full!!
  9. I'm home!! My surgeon was hesitant, but he decided I could go. I'm super tired, and FULL!!! I've been trying to walk a little here and there, but I've decided it's nap time. Just wanted to check in with you all, and wish the best for every one pre and post op!
  10. Hey everybody I'm supposed to be going home today I had a pretty rough morning. I had throw up and drain my g tube 3 times i don't know what caused the nausea. I did just take off my anti-nausea patch last night and i'm wondering if i would have been feeling this way every morning. I've got a headache that won't quit. I'm going to take a shower around noon and hopefully my surgeon will release me to go home. I hope you are all doing well.

  12. Congrats to everyone that came through surgery! I wish you all a speedy recovery. My thoughts and prayers are with those facing surgery tomorrow! Keep us posted!
  13. I'm so glad to hear everyone is doing so well!! I've been drinking 2 oz of blue PowerAde every hour since 8:30. It's all I can do to get that down! I have a spirometer that I have to use 10 times an hour. And I've walked three times today. The pain is a little worse now than before b/c I'm off Morphine and on Loritab. I don't like the way the Loritab feels on my "old" stomach. I'l get through! I have to remember why I'm doing it.
  14. Hey everyone! I'm about 14 hours since my surgery. Pain is bearable. I think i fought nausea more than anything. Lots of Zofran and Phenegren. I'm so happy to be done! I have a Blake drain and a g tube. Left incision under my breast hurts the most. Doing my deep breathing and coughing and anti blood clot exercises. Thanks for you prayers and you better believe Ill return the favor. Hugs to everyone!! Blessings to the who go in today.

  17. Getting ready to jump in the shower. Bags are packed. I'm ready to go!
  18. I'm anemic too, b/c of loooong bad periods with pcos. I've done the transfusion thing, and it usually helps. I'm so glad you might be going home!!
  19. That GoLytley stuff. It was a big 4 liter bottle with pineapple flavored powder in the bottom, just fill shake and chug 8 oz every ten minutes. Oh my goodness. It was rough! I'm all done now, I had to drink it 17 times! On the last one I thought I wasn't going to be able to hold it down! So glad that's over.
  20. Thanks for the positive words. I gotta remember why I'm doing it.
