new to the board

hi all! my name is Wendilou and I live in Austin,Texas. I'm 38 years old and I've been obese most of my adult life. now is the time to change that!

I am currently in my three-month weight loss program with my PCP; just a couple more weeks of that to go. I have already had a chest x-ray, lab work, EKG, barium swallow, and yesterday I went for my psychological clearance. that was a weird appt! I felt like I answered everything wrong!

I am 5'4"

my current weight is 246

My heaviest weight was 280

my goal weight is 135, although my surgeon says he only expects me to get down to 180 :(

I hope to make a lot of WLS friends here :)

Hey Red! I'm going for the RNY gastric bypass. Wow--you are three days out! How are you feeling? Are you still in the hospital? Great to meet you!

I'm home. Came home yesterday. Feeling pretty good. More discomfort than pain. Doing ok with my liquids. It's great to meet u too!!

When is surgery ?

Welcome Wendy and fellow Texan - Dallas area!!

You and I are close in bodies. I am 5'4 and started at 256. My doc said at 181 I was considered a success. I am currently at 157. I had surgery June 5, 2012. I went from a 2-3xl shirt to a s-m, and a size 22 to a 8-10 right now. I am losing more inches than weight, but I am currently strength training to rebuild muscle to get ready for the police academy test in a couple months.

Good lck!

Welcome , I'm also new!! I have my surgery on April 24th!! I'm 5'3"...weight is 295...worst I've ever felt, feel like my feet will just crumble when I walk or stand to much!! I pray your journey is successful !!
