I need ideas. I'm on the puréed food' date=' but I tolerate soft foods fine if I chew well. However, I'm starving. Literally. I am 3 weeks 5 days post op. I've lost 40 pounds. My grandmother, to whom I was incredibly close, died on Tuesday. I haven't been able to tolerate anything other than a few sips of water now and then. Everything else comes right back up. I'm taking all my anti-anxiety and antidepressants, vitamins, and anti nausea medication. It stays down less than 5 minutes. I'm on the verge of being admitted to nsg feeding and IV fluids, but I can't stand the thought of being away from my family. I'm so heartbroken. Any ideas for comfort food that my pouch might tolerate?[/quote']

Maybe some side cheese? Crackers, banana,i found some rice pudding at Walmart that had no sugar added..half cup is 70 calories and 4g protien, have you tried some mashed potatoes or cream of wheat? So sorry to hear about your grandma...you know she would want you to take care of yourself! As upsetting as it is, try to focus more on all the happy times you've had and let those memories comfort you!

I was at your sstage and experiencing almost same thing. you could have a stricture so definitely call your surgeons office

Sorry i haven't been on in a while been through a lot these past two weeks got to eat today finally!!!! So I have been in the hospital 2 weeks due to severe abdominal pain and not able to eat or drink they did a scope Thursday and found my opening was only the size of a grain of rice not to mention the bleeding I had during surgery was a ulcer the dr. Left inside (ass whole) I called them 4 times and I was told to take my meds and suck it up!!! So I drove an hour to alliance NE and they tried to figure it out but after a week decided to take a different approach and sent me to Methodist hospital in omaha via ambulance (sucked) got there and they stretched my opening I can now eat normal food but I am still suffering from chronic pain so far they think it is due to severe scar tissue and or nerve damage fingers crossed they fix it soon I'm tired of the pain keep me In your prayers my friends xoxoxo

I'm sorry to hear

I made mashed cauliflower last night. Omg it was sooo good. Better then mashed potatoes because of the carbs.

That sounds good!

Okay so nothing is staying down. Gonna call the doc today bc I'm frustrated and hungry bc I keep throwing up.

I am about 3.5 weeks post op & 30 lbs down. I had to go to Goodwill this weekend to get some clothes that fit. I have to admit that was a good feeling! Sizes I haven't been into in years! I still am not getting near enough fluids in. Anyone have any tips or secrets? I am told it takes 2 weeks to make a new habit. Ugh! :/
