Same thing happen to me......I did not have it but day after surgery I did and one month later I did too....I small 5 weeks out

I'm almost 6 weeks post op and have had my period for 3 weeks now and it's been miserable.

Any of you gals have weight or bleeding issues after the mirena? I had mine put in a month after surgery and not only have i've been spotting, bleeding and cramping, but I have also not loss anything over 2 pounds since! I'm considering having it removed! :(

I had my mirena before surgery and did not have any issues until I got it changed almost close to my goal weight! I'm now stuck at 141 and can't loose any weight anymore!

I had one about a year ago and it migrated up in my uterus and would pinch every time I sat down so I had it taken out. You an have increased bleeding or spotting the first few months then once you have had it you might stop having periods. There was only a 5% chance of weight gain in a study they did an it wasn't conclusive enough to say mirena caused the weight gain.

I heard that once the body gets used to it the weight loss will continue....I guess we will have to wait and see huh? :/ Keep me posted.

I had the copper one before and had it removed for the same reason, plus it was making my bleeding so heavy that I became severely anemic. GYN recommended I try Mirena because it will cause less bleeding but not if it will keep me from losing weight.

GYN told me what you just said about the 5% but I keep seeing complaints about weight gain.

Anyway I will give it some time to see what happens.

Thanks! :)

I had gotten the mirena the week of my surgery August 10th this year. Everything seemed to be going well till yesterday when I was at the grocery store. I kept feeling a pinch went to the bathroom and wiped and it fell out. I am like wth?????????

It came out?! Wth?! Did they do an ultrasound thing to make sure it was in place? I feel the pinching every once in a while- now I'm scared! Lol

Yes it was in place and just fine. All of a sudden its out and this is a tmi but I am bleeding like my first miscarriage, but I am on time for my period.

And you didn't have it in long.... Did you call your doctor? I'm sure the bleeding is normal but it came out?!
