They took mine out before I came out of the operating room ,I did have a drain in place also a cath , and two ivs in my left arm .

Anyone have an NG tube in place when they woke up from surgery?

Yes, u did for three days. But my situation was different. Some surgeons take it out before u wake and some do not until after ur upper gi is done and they confirm no leaks.

I didn't have one with the RNY. I had one when my lapband came out...hated it! I didn't realize some folks had one in with the RNY. Did your doc say why?

I assume I probably had one during the surgery but never had it when I was conscious.
