Urine Catherter? :/

I have been OBSESSING about the urine Catherter thing..! It makes me cringe just thinking about it >_< what does it feel like and did they take it out while you were asleep or how did the whole process go for you guys? I'm terrified of anything other than my IUD inside my vag. Lol it's just weird.

It doesn't hurt that bad it does a little but if u relax it'll be ok just remember breath I didn't have it for the rny yet but for kidney stones

Put it in after I was asleep, took it out before I woke up, if it wasn't for the goo (lubricant) wouldn't have known they had been digging around down there :P now that was for a band and later for a band removal, dunno if bypass is different.

I've had em three times now they put it in when ur asleep and take it out when ur awake does not hurt! Feels weird yes but doesn't hurt unless u pull it so don't do that lol

My surgeon has his patients alseep when they put it in. Kinda odd for me I was awake when they did for a csection. But I was out..... When I woke up they didn't take it out until the next day and that was painless! Don't worry about just relax and take a deep breath. :)

It's just so weird for something like that to be in my Body controlling my pee! It's kinda creepy not being in control of your own bladder like that. Whew! Just gives me the willies >_< ew!

Ask away! I didn't find this site until after my surgery. I wish I would found before the support, answers, and just people who have been there is awesome!

Yeah, its crazy! But its a relief not having to pee when your fresh out of surgery.... Even the day after its hard! I had gas pain, I was hooked to iv I have these leg squeezers on I had to take those off, unplug my iv, get up and walk to the bathroom....

Mine was put in after I was asleep. It was taken out the next day. Painless. I barely knew it was in.

I had one placed during my hystorectomy and I am goin to be honest I hated every minute of it. It felt like there was pressure and I could not get comfortable. I did like that I could just relax and pee, but the it was not worth the feeling of pressure and discomfort. It did not hurt coming out at all though.

I didn't think it hurt at all....just felt like I was peeing ........drain n tube is worse' date=' just being honest[/quote']

What do you mean drain and tube? and I love your screen name lol

Some doctors use a drainage tube, to drain fluid out of one of the incisions. Mine didn't use that either. I guess I lucked out. No drain no catheter. Maybe your surgeon doesn't use either :) good luck.
