Hi I'm just turned 57 in dec having GB on Feb 14 I'm looking for someone close to me for a work out partner I'm in Lilburn Ga having my surgery at Gwinnett Med in Duluth Ga with Dr Richards.

How are you doing now that you are a few weeks post op?

Opposes....... That may not be what happens to us. I guess it's just fear of the unknown. I figure I. Done with weight watchers no more of that especially after the last time I was there the instructor said " oh you'll be here forever" . That. Really hurt and not like I wasn't successful I had lost 72 lbs at one point. Just did the yo yo stuff. So that really did it. I pray this works and I can do it all. I'm concerned with the liquid diet for 2 weeks prior hope I can do it. I'm nervous about it all.

I know what you mean. I was a nervous wreck for the past month. (My surgery is 2/28/13) y husband and kids are supportive, but it was t until I started my dearest friends that I knew this was right. They love me enough to encourage me to get healthy and they know I can't keep dieting/losing/gaining. I know it's not easy but it's easier than suffering fat.

Nybody out there starting this adventure that is in their 50's?

I am 55 SD 1/14/2013.

I'm 59...had surgery 1/23

I went to the doc's office yesterday for my 4 week follow up appointment, he said my body has healed nicely. I'm down 21.4 lbs which is on the low end but normal and now he wants me to eat 6 times a day advised me i was not eating enough and to exercise 3 to 4 times a week OMG and plus Protein and fluids. I am signing up for planet fitness which just moved in my area membership is $10 a month. Oh and BTW I am on my way back to work on On Sunday foe my regular 10 hr shift ( let the fun begin). Pray 4 me.

Just found this forum and love it cuz I am 52 and did this just for health reasons and the smaller size clothes is just an added perk. I had surgery 11/19/2012 have lost 59 pounds as of today and I must say I have never felt better. My husband and two sons have been beside me since day one my daughter not so much but she is starting to come around finally, I hope. I was feeling kinda down as the weight loss is going alot slower and I am excersising twice a day ( and loving it, who would have thought that) but then I realized I am below 200 pounds for the first time since 1992 and have gone from a size 26 jean to a size 16. So I am ready to celebrate and pat myself on the back. I guess the biggest thing I have learned about myself is that I can do this and no one else can, and it is all about me, and that is ok. For those who are getting ready to have surgery remember this is life changing and it is a tool for you but it is also work. Sorry for the long post but feeling really good about myself and surgery and life in general. Hope everyone has a great day from sunny northeast PA. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
